Research challenges US policy; vaccine touted for children

Influenza is highly contagious. The virus is spread when someone either inhales infected droplets in the air (coughed up or sneezed by an infected person) or when someone comes in direct contact with an infected person’s secretions (for example, kissing, sharing of handkerchiefs and other items, and through use of objects such as spoons and forks).SOURCE

Perhaps if folks learned basic hygiene habits this would nto be a big issue.
  • **Cover their nose and mouth with a tissue when they cough or sneeze—have them throw the tissue away after they use it. **
  • **Wash their hands often with soap and water, especially after they cough or sneeze. If water is not near, use an alcohol-based hand cleaner. **
  • **Remind them to not to touch their eyes, nose, or mouth. Germs often spread this way **
