Ribozyme, I fear you’re right about the suffering. And it may take a gigadeath to awaken people to the need for conscientious population management. Unfortunately once the juggernaut is rolling, starvation, disease, and resource wars don’t obediently stop when we think enough people have died to wake us us.Gigadeaths… scary, scary stuff.
I thought it would take about 400 million deaths for the world to come to its senses and reject the taboos against conscientious population management. Gigadeaths involve too much death.
I think a technological solution in better batteries and solar will lead to a solution in the early 2020s. I just fear that we do not have enough time left to reach the 2020s with those technologies invented. There will be plenty of suffering ahead.
I live in an enlightened community, and the average family size in our Catholic school is two children, quite intentionally.
