Also, OP, I have found it HUGELY helpful as the “kill-joy” wife when my husband makes an effort, when he has something he wants to do (usually playing in a sports league) to, ahead of time, plan the weekend with me. He will say “I have games on Sunday from 10-2, so what do you want to do this weekend?” or “Since I have games on Sunday from 10-2, I was thinking we could get lunch after softball, and maybe visit XYZ on Saturday?”. Etc.
