please pray for my friend’s son, Nick.
he has been suffering migranes and weight loss for a while now.
today they tried to operate on a brain tumor.
turns out it is in the middle of the brain, along with a cyst, so they cannot operate.
they will be putting in a shunt and giving him radiation
 
I will pray for Nick and place him in the Garden of our Lady’s Immaculate Heart. May She watch over him and protect him.

update on nick
they found a different doctor who wants to do a biopsy and while operating try to remove the whole tumor - hooray for effort.
nick is in surgery now until 9pm EST

I see that Nick is in surgery … keeping him in prayer that the surgery will be totally successful and for a quick recovery…

an update on Nick

The tumor was on the pineal gland, which deals with the optic nerve, so Nick now has double vision.
His doctor said that Nick’s vision may come back normally, or will return, with therapy; time will tell.

They took an MRI after the operation, and they said that looked clear ( no hemorraging, etc.), which
is good. The surgeon didn’t want to touch anymore of the tumor, so they’ll use radiation for the remainder.
They should receive the pathology report on the tumor in a day or two.

The next crucial step is the movement of the spinal fluid, naturally. Right now, the spinal fluid is draining into a
bag, but on Saturday, they’re going to put a clamp on and hope that the spinal fluid will drain naturally (they
said there’s a 40% chance that this will happen), and will do a CT scan to make sure it’s flowing properly.
