Yup. I’ve finished my law studies for the Master’s degree and I’m starting a PhD course. This is the time to do some serious thinking about the future (and a bit late at this). Please pray for some guidance for me.

There are many options with various different benefits and drawbacks and there’s some discernment for me to do - especially about entering public service or not. I don’t exactly desire to be a clerk, but a judge or a diplomat is a noble calling. For now, however, I need to finance the doctoral course, although this job should be at least somehow connected to what I end up doing after the doctorate. I won’t bore you with details, but there’s a lot to choose from and values are heavily involved in this, especially considering public service vs private career, the judge’s necessity to be neutral vs my desire to enter into politics and help establish some real Christian democratic party, the ability to dedicate myself to the calling of a judge, diplomat, advocate (attorney) even, in a way impossible (and instinctly wrong to me) with private businesses vs the necessity to provide support for current and future family (if you’re a judge here, forget about your wife staying home and who knows how you’re going to pay for a house) and I also have to take into account my desire to have some form of academic work, which is largely impossible with most private employers but little problem for a judge, then there are some skills I would sorely miss using in a job that doesn’t. All in all, there’s a lot of tough decisions to make and from some, there won’t be much return. So, please say a prayer or two for me. 😉 Thank you. 🙂 In fact, please pray for me to make the right decision, not the best for me - and to have the strength to do the right thing as well.

I’m so proud of you, our little “Chevalier” is growing up…😃 :extrahappy: :bounce:

In all seriousness, though, you are in my prayers.🙂

I will remember your intentions in my daily prayers and at Mass.

:signofcross: :gopray:

I’m impressed with you! I so love to hear that a Christian is becoming a Lawyer. It makes a world of difference. Bring God along and let him guide you through it all.

Im Praying.

May The Holy Spirit guide you and strengthen you in all things…will be keeping you in daily prayer…

Praying for you Chev :gopray2:

I’m soon to resume my law studies (only a year of part-time study left  :extrahappy: ) so you should be happy to know there’ll soon be two of us pyro!

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Thank you. 🙂 I’m pushing my resume wherever I can and praying for a good outcome, as well as direction. Because I’m doing the PhD course, I don’t need to do the attorney or judge training (doctors can just take the exam), so I don’t have to choose right now and I can pick some job that will finance my studies. Perhaps it will be clearer in four years from now. Right now I’m worried because there are next to no offers matching my qualifications too closely - just part of them, not all areas, not my favourite areas of law, this kind of thing. But it’s some consolation that after four years from now, it will be better. 🙂

Thank you. 🙂

I’ve just got a nice phone number and it turns out I’ll have a sort of trial period with one of the best law firms here. They don’t deal with what I specialise in, but my specialisations aren’t set in stone really, and it’ll always help me even if they don’t pay anything through this trial time.

Please say the following prayer right now to release 1,000 souls from purgatory (Approval and Recommendation signed by M. Cardinal Pahiarca, Lisbon, Portugal March 4, 1936.): Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy Souls in Purgatory. Amen

Continuing to keep you in prayer…hope all will unfold well for you…
