Thank you for your reply. I was already aware of Pope Leo’s affirmation of the tradition but I would have thought that with all the historical evidence, including that stated in the Catholic Encyclopedia, you would come to believe (as I did) that this “tradition” is contrary to facts and therefore not true.

I understand that tradition is very important, but when it conflicts not only with the Bible but with logic, I defer to logic.

Matthew 22:37 (New International Version)
Jesus replied: " ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
There is a difference between tradition and Sacred Tradition, Sacred Tradition never contradicts Sacred Scripture.

What is Minding the Light? Christ?
The “Light of Christ”, “that of God”, “the Seed”, “Light Within” indwells us all. The Light of Christ…Light Within…the Presence in our Midst…is Christ…the Holy Spirit…“God With Us”.

Friends seek to “listen to the Light” in the Silence of our Meetings. Sometimes the Light moves some of those present to provide “vocal ministry” to us. Christ is our Present Teacher. When a Friend seeks to “mind the Light”…it is a conscious choice to Listen and Follow what the Light has impressed upon us.

God doesn’t always speak out of the “whirlwind” or the “earthquake”…but usually speaks in that “Still Small Voice”. God speaks to each of us. It is our task to “listen” and “mind the Light”…“pay attention to the Light Within”.

Thanks Publisher, I learned something new today.🙂

Be honest. Don’t stop to think about the answer you will give.

How do you pray most often?

For me it’s a sign of the cross (in my mind, not necessarily done with my hands) and an unspoken plea.
How do I most often pray.

Well, I work at a hospital, and whenever a patient is driven by me in his/her bed, I pray for that person. That happens quite a few times every day. When I come home I often hear the ambulances drive by and I pray too… sometimes I get impatient. I feel God placed me right here for a reason and I must always be prepared;)
I also speak to the Lord about many things that comes to my mind during the day.

In the evening I have my most important zooming in on the Lord. I speak to Him, ask Him to heal loved ones etc, and I praise Him.
Sometimes He just looks at me as I speek (I like to do this loudly) and when I feel His gaze a smile fills my being, though while I pray I often weep without knowing exactly why.

When He answers me clearly I am often taken by surprise. I then fall to my face and weep for joy and happiness and amazement.

Sometimes I pray more, sometimes less. I try to read Scripture every day because the Word creates love in my heart as I read it.

The words most often uttered: “Lord, your will be done in me” and “Lord have mercy on…!”

saint dominick’s
I understand Dominck did seek to convert the Cathars…but had little success…so little success was achieve that Innocent III called for the crusade against the Cathars…and the rest is history…in a 40 year period almost every Cathar was killed by the crusade called by the church against them. About 30,000 crusaders converged on the south of France in the Languedoc.

The Albigensian Crusade was Europe’s first “genocide” on this scale.

** St. Dominic now found great success in this new devotion and brought about the conversion of the Albigensians**

Oh right. That’s why a 20 year war followed to get rid of the Cathar heresy.

Church History. It’s fascinating. You should read up on it sometime.

I STAND CORRECT. Why don’t you people go on St. Dominic’s site and see for yourself? Always, non-Catholic’s knocking the true church of Christ. But that’s what Jesus said anyway. They will hate you because of me.

Very unhelpfully you dont provide a link to the site you are referring to

However, is it this one? prayers.viarosa.com/RosaryStDominic.html

If not, Ive been to numerous other ones as well, and none of them, including the link I provided above, claim that St. Dominic and the Rosary converted the Albigensians.

Where did you get that from

It’s a matter of historical record the church fought a 20 year war dealing with the cathars.

That doesn’t sound much like a conversion experience to me

Let me help you with my beautiful Catholic faith. 😉
in 1208, while praying in a chapel, Dominic had an Apparition of Mary that was supported by 13 popes. Complaining of the scant success he was having with the Albigensians, the Blessed Mother told him these words:
**“Wonder not that you have obtained so little fruit by your labors, you have spent them on barren soil, not yet watered with the dew of Divine Grace.
When God willed to renew the face of the earth, he began sending down on it fertilizing rain on the Angelic Salutation. Therefore preach my Psalter composed of 150 Angelic Salutations and 15 Our Fathers, and you will obtain an abundant harvest”.

**Indeed, St. Dominic had amazing success converting the Albergensians after he started preaching the prayer of the Angelic Salutation with the Our Fathers (later to be known as the Holy Rosary).

See? You learned something else today…🙂

Fascinating. 😃 But as already pointed out to you - numerous times by numerous posters, there isn’t a single shred of evidence for this, not even in the Dominican Order itself. 😃

Dominic didn’t have amazing success converting - in fact that’s why the pope decided to go to war: From your own Catholic Encyclopedia:
  • Innocent III, in view of the immense spread of the heresy, which infected over 1000 cities or towns, called (1207) upon the King of France, as Suzerain of the County of Toulouse, to use force.*
    newadvent.org/cathen/01267e.htm
As you were previously advised, and it’s good advice I might add, learn to distinguish between tradition, and Sacred Tradition. 👍

Once again, it’s been a pleasure to help you out. You’re welcome 😛 😃

Oh but there Is a shred of evidence to this…I just don’t care to give you that information…I just enjoy you going in a frenzy looking for it…:rolleyes:
Oh and by the way, there is only ONE Tradition we Catholics believe, and that is Sacred Tradition. Nice try…😉

Once again you are wrong  many devotions/practices within the catholic church are traditions, based on centuries of practice, but these are not part of the **sacred tradition **of the catholic church.

Sacred tradition comes from Christ:

Sacred Tradition comes from Christ. It’s the full, living gift of Christ to the Apostles, faithfully handed down through each generation. It is through Tradition that the Holy Spirit makes the Risen Lord present among us, offering us the very same saving Word and Sacraments that he gave to the Apostles!

Once again, I’m happy to help you out. It’s a pleasure 👍 😃

What do you think the bible is? It is Tradition written down…that would make it Sacred wouldn’t it?
For someone who thinks they know all about the Catholic faith and not joins the church which Christ established, is in sin. So, I could only hope that God have mercy on your soul. I do not wish to speak with you any longer on this matter.

amen to that thank you for your prayer and support. it doesn’t say this in the video but I think he might have been Catholic because as far as I know we are the only ones who actually reenact the death of Jesus unless of course there is a denomination I don’t know about.
