Dear Lord Almighty,
please help all those suffering from drug and alcohol addiction find recovery in you and through you as I have. Sobriety is a gift from you, please give that gift to those who need it the most. Amen

Our Father, Who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

I have a special place in my heart for addicts. My mother is addicted to drugs.

Alcohol having claimed my brother, Aunt, Cousin, and grandfather (that I know of), I am encouraged to pray: Merciful and loving God, you know the torment of those who lie in the evil one’s grip. In their most desolate and agonizing moments, as they hang on the cross of despair, graciously open their eyes, appeal to their hearts, that they may see a glimmer of hope in You and strive toward it with all of the strength of their being. Bestow upon them the desire to return to You the love that you have had for them since all eternity. Grant that they make the blessed decision that those who love them have awaited and prayed for. Your beloved Son willingly suffered and died that they might have a share in Your heavenly Kingdom. Through Your Divine Mercy, grant them blessed relief. We ask this through Christ, our Lord, Who lives and Reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen.
