My grandfather has throughout his life loyally put God first and been kind and generous to others through active participation in the Church (Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent de Paul Society) as well as to his family. Now that he has reached his hour of need, I pray that he will find kindness and generosity in his turn.

Grampa is 90 years old, and has been attending Eucharistic Adoration for his weekly hour from midnight - 1:00 in the morning for a few years now, even at personal risk to himself out driving during a snowstorm on treacherous roads for instance … and he lives in a snow belt near Buffalo, NY of blizzard fame.

Well, finally he’s had to give up his position as Adorer due to being unable to drive. With humility, he agreed with the family that he should no longer operate a car. So this Sunday found him readying himself to walk to Mass … which is also no longer a safe thing for him to do, but he would be quite willing to take the risk for God. Fortunately, someone stepped in to drive him to Church.

Grampa needs to move into an assisted living arrangement as soon as possible, and indeed has found one he likes after taking a tour of the place.

However, the devil appears to be putting up obstacles which I would rather not go into.

Please pray that my grandfather will speedily be accepted into the best assisted living facility in accordance with God’s Will, and treated with love, honor, respect, and compassion.

Thank you,

I am praying for your grandfather & for your entire family at this time…
What a beautiful testimony to his faith that he has!! :gopray2: :gopray2: :gopray2:

Merciful and loving God, you greated Grampa from all eternity as an irreplaceable part of Your Divine plan. You have smiled upon his faithfulness and love over the decades as he has been devoted to You. Smile upon him this day and, as the Provident Father, graciously reveal the next portion of Your perfect plan to those who love him; that they may have peace within their hearts, and that Your servant Grampa may dwell in comfort as he awaits Your eternal consolation. May Grampa be filled with Your peace, as was Simeon upon beholding Your Blessed Son Jesus in the Temple. We ask this through Christ, our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever. Amen.

I have gone through this myself and know your concern and pain. May the Holy Spirit be present in aiding your Grandfather in this situation and rest assured of my prayers on his account.

In the name of Jesus Christ, get out of their way satan. Father, allow this family to do your will. Remove all evil from their path. Grant this family your special blessings. Send them your angel from heaven to guide, protect, and comfort them during this time in their life. AMEN

Let me first to say that Satan cannot take away your grandpa’s time in adoration. If you can get him to a computer, you can get him there. It is a live broadcast of Eucharistic Adoration, I used it all summer b/c I couldn’t get there very often (have a 2 yr old). It might be awkward for him at first, but please try. It would bring so much joy to him I know.

Heavenly Father,

Your good servant is in need of what is necessary for him to live out his days. We pray that this man be comforted for having served you well. Let not the enemy have any say in how he is treated, but bring generosity and good will to him the remainder of his days. This part of life also Father, we seek for our country to have a renewed respect of. Hold this man in your arms and give him courage to face this next phase of his life. Help this country to see your face in each life, growing, new and old.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

God Bless
In Jesus through Mary

I have placed your petitions within my heart and will carry them with me to Mass and I will remember your petitions in my daily prayers.

Dear Zooey, dolphinlove, po18guy, sjegts, pyropam, catherine m, Yustina, 244Rocket, wgholland, stove, thereseozi, and Sapphire,

Immense thanks for your kind prayers and suggestions.

At this point, Grampa is staying overnight at the hospital for observation. It was more like doctor’s orders after a visit to the doctor, not an emergency hospitalization from an unforeseen circumstance. Based on this, anything else I would try to convey as news right now would only really be guessing.

I will be praying in turn for all of you, and write down your names to take with me to my parish Eucharistic Adoration Chapel.

My family went through this with my mother in 2006. She was in the hospital for 12 days for observation and evaluation. From there to a nursing home for treatment of confusion and depression, and just when we had no place to move her, a call came in. It was our first choice in an adult family home. She lived there until the Lord called her this past March. She was baptized into the Catholic faith one year ago today. All of her complaints about aging disappeared. She was then ready for the Lord’s consolation and lived her life out in peace. Praise God for His Gracious Mercy!
