I want
my copy early!
I just pre-ordered it at Barnes and Noble, so I’ll be going to the “midnight party” to pick it up. I plan on reading straight through, front to back. No food breaks, no sleep breaks, nothing. I have to finish it before Sunday, otherwise I won’t be able to concentrate at Mass!!!
But, I think it should be more than doable. I read HBP in about 8 hours when it came out.
As for theories (I have not read any spoilers or heard anything from what’s really in the book, so these are just my thoughts here)…
I know many say that Harry is a horocrux. I’m not so sure. It seems that it would make logical sense that Harry somehow became an unintentional horocrux, especially with his special connection with Voldemort and his scar. Plus, Dumbledore even said that he thinks Voldemort had in mind that he was going to make his final horocrux when he went to Godric’s Hollow…
My only reserve about this theory is that it’s too obvious. It would mean that Harry must be destroyed in order for Voldemort to be killed. Which also means that Harry can’t be the one who kills Voldemort. So, I don’t know.
As for Snape… perhaps I’m just being hopeful, but I think he’s still on the Order’s side. If you think about it, if he was really on Voldemort’s side, he would have given Voldy so much information about the Order that it would be impossible that it’s still functioning. Wouldn’t Voldemort attempt to destroy his only real opposition? Plus, the clever insert of Snape’s Unbreakable Vow with Nacrissa Malfoy… but that could just be a ploy to make us
think he’s on the good side.

Really, I don’t know. I’m just excited for Rowling to give us something none of us expected!
