For my daughter Rachel (third surgery in a week)

The surgery went well. They open up her hip again and cleaned out a bit of infection. Thet put in a pic line yesterday. We will be doing IV antibiotics at home probably next week. tThe pressure sore on her knee is healing nicely and the pressure sore on her groin was a little bit infected but should be OK. She’s on a high protien diet to help the healing but she’s such a picky eater that it will take vigilance to keep her on it. Thanks for the prayers and God Bless you all.

Praise God for His mercy! Pete, his wife, and their daughter Rachel are lifted up in daily prayer. Yesterday, they were lifted up before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. Amen.

We came home Thursday. They opened her hip to the same size it was after the surgery in December. She’s on the Wound-Vac and six weeks of IV antibiotics. Hopefully it will heal this time.

Merciful Jesus, during Your life on earth You showed great concern for the sick and the infirm. Have compassion now on Rachel who has bladder surgery. Grant her a healing of mind and body and restore her strength and spirit.

Comfort her with the knowledge that we are praying for her and her family, and give them peace with a sense of Your presence. May they know that in a special way they are united with You, their suffering Christ. May they contribute to the welfare of the Whole People of God by associating themselves freely with Your passion and death for the salvation of the world. Bless, too, those who take care of the sick.
