Hello Everyone and thank you so much for your continued prayers. I’ve started “sharing” my communion with her now during my daily Mass so I think I’m in a good place and can continue to pray. I don’t feel any negative feelings towards her - or anyone else for that matter. I feel…free
As well as to thank you all, I also wanted to share something. This is really for anyone who feels that people in their lives “are getting away with things” or anyone who feels that they can’t forgive. I’ll try to be brief: over a decade ago my mother and one of my brothers committed financial fraud and stole a substantial amount of money from me. At the time I was unwell and on my own. I remember being devastated because the money mattered to them more than I did - although I shouldn’t have been surprised.
Being in the hospital there wasn’t much to do other than think. Something (I now know it was God) told me that as she was getting older my mother (due to alcoholism, etc) would become ill and my brother would have to take care of her physically and financially. They would lose everything that they had stolen and more. That is exactly what is happening. I’ve found out that he is paying for all of her needs.
He once shouted at me, “All I want is the money.” Well…
If I could go back I would still rather have their love. This is how things are now but God has shown me (many times) that we do things to ourselves dependent on our intentions. We can raise ourselves up to accomplish amazing things and debase ourselves only to be lost and separate from Him.
I hope that they both find their way back. If you are struggling with forgiveness, I can assure you if I (with all of my failings) can forgive - anyone can.

My update was really to help anyone who is finding it difficult to forgive. I think that it’s one of the most challenging things we can face in relationships with friends and families but forgiveness like love sets us free
