For my Parents...Mom's reading the book!

My sister and I are converts to the Catholic Faith; my mom and dad are evangelicals. They are currently worshipping as Salvation Army soldiers. I have great respect for the work that the S.A. does, but as a denomination, they do not baptize or celebrate communion, and hold some rather odd ideas. How I long for them to be able to kneel beside us at the communion rail, and receive Christ!

I have recently given them a copy of the book, “Born Fundamentalist, Born Again Catholic”. My mom, who has always been suspicious of Catholicism, is actually reading it!:yup: This is a major breakthrough. Please pray that she continues…

Won’t you please pray for their conversion? Thank-you so much.
 
Of course I will pray! It is so wonderful that she is reading the book. I wish I could get my father to do the same.
 
Two books by Mark P. Shea, who converted from Evangelicalism: By What Authority? and This Is My Body. He pays homage to his Evangelical roots, but reveals how his intellectual investigation into the early church lead to his biased view of Catholicism melting away. His books are praised by none other than Scott Hahn and Peter Kreeft. High praise, indeed. You should be able to find both for about $15. If you cannot, PM me and I will obtain them for you.

Merciful and timeless God, look with Heavenly grace upon Tammie’s parents. Create in them a hunger, a desiring in their hearts for a fuller relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. May their undeniable love of Your Blessed Son lead them to full communion with the church He founded upon the fisher of men, Cepha. I ask this through Christ, our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever. Amen.

The peace of Christ always be with you.
 
I will offer my Rosary today for the conversion of your parents and for all to come Home.
 
Lord, I pray for Tammie’s parents. May you guide them and grant them the grace that they may experience and establish a personal relationship with You, and if it is Your will that they convert to Catholism, then may your will be done. This I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
 
Lord, I humbly ask you to show Tammy’s parents the Way to You. Guide them so that they may come to know Your Love, share in Your Light, Heavenly Glory, Forgiveness of Sin and Life Everlasting. Amen.

What a great and positive step! I long for the day when any of my family will agree to read those books. I have so many saved for them!

Lord, we pray that You will mercifully breathe Your Holy Spirit upon Tammie’s parents, that their hearts will be illuminated to the fulness of truth. May the beauty and depth of our faith bring joy to their hearts, and fulfill Your will for them, and their desire to know You more fully. I ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
