I wonder what they are going to do when THEY are approached. Run away?
The theme of this thread is vigilantes. Police are specially trained to uphold law and order; it’s their job.

citizens “job” is to uphold law and order also, and they don’t need to be “specially trained”

Do you believe we need vigilantes, like George Zimmerman, to do the work of specially trained police?

“goal is vigilance, not vigilantes”

They should tell that to the vigilantes who want to lynch George Zimmerman and his family.

.
Unfortunately it would seem GZ is s now subject to the same sort of vigilante justice he himself used.

Thanks Mary! Here in California we do not hand out concealed gun permits to vigilantes. The idea was explored and rejected by the governor and chiefs of police.
I highly doubt most police officers want untrained vigilante citizens trying to do their job; if so why have a police force?

You have any statistics on this vigilante mentality issue you have swimming around in your mind? I know these rare birds pop up now and again. But seriously now, whats the solution to this and how much are they really a problem?

Block watch isn’t going anywhere. And those good American citizens living in a high crime area, many also.play an active role in there own life. I’m pretty sure that’s how they originated. And often they also pay the price.

You on Block Watch? What would you do, night after night if a handful of young guys were selling crack out in front of your house? And the police, well they just don’t always catch them first night out, sometimes it actually requires an investigation and months.

All I’m saying is that society ought not to place concealed weapons in the hands of vigilantes.

The nazis and communist came to the same conclusion as the rulers of California.

Wait, what?

George Zimmerman for one, and Florida State law, which encourages vigilantism.
