Today I saw a homeless girl and her dog on the corner by Walmart. I gave her some snacks, water and dog food. I feel so sad in my heart for her-- no matter if some of her predicament is her own doing.

You were sent to heal the contrite
Lord, have mercy.
You came to call sinners
Christ, have mercy.
You always intercede for us
Lord, have mercy.

Lord God, please bless and protect our brothers and sisters who are homeless. Lead them to people, groups, and institutions that can give them their basic needs of food, clothing and shelter. And if we should ever meet someone homeless in our daily lives, compels us by the Holy Spirit to lend a helping hand, whether it means simply smiling, giving a small amount, or giving them something to eat… AMEN.
