Please excuse my zealotry. In humility I see the sense in what you are saying.and submit to the Truth of it .I have mispokrn when i said we can become the world;Christ has already accomplished that for us but we should not be complacent and as Cartholic and non-Catholic Christians we have every right to defend our Faith and our Families.I am not a demogogue nor a rabble-rouser but am a fed-up Christian who is sick of seeing the Faith defecated upon within and without the Church and it is within our purview to do something about that-something Ghandi-like,something Martin Luther King-like,something Christ-like.All of us cannot be st Francis sometimes we need St Joan of Arc or St Sebastiens.I am one little voice;I don’t want my voice to be heard I want OUR voices to be heard. The Enemy and his human minions are emboldened and unafraid of us unlke our Muslim Brethren. We can defeat them or make them crawl back under their rocks if we act boldly and without fear.Whether its through public prayer, marches demanding respect or making our voices heard in every outlet of the media. The secret of this world is that we are not regarded as people by industry, governments and media,we are simply consumers and if we refuse to consume and let them know why, they out of pure fear forGrace & Peace!
Soutane, I admire your zeal. But the two quotes from you above reveal the weak foundation of your project–you wish to remake the Kingdom of God into the image of the Kingdom of the World. Look at history. See how many people wished to create the Kingdom of God on earth and see how all of them slowly (or quickly) became the Kingdom of the World. You may protest and say your motives are pure. I believe they are. You may say God is on your side because you are a faithful Catholic. Fine. But your project, your intentions, are colored by a jealous anger which covets what the World has. That is pride. Not God. I am being brutally honest. If you continue down this path, you will fail and your intentions will come to nothing.
There is nothing that the world has that is worth coveting. Period. There is no government or authority structure that the World models or endorses that is worth pursuing. Period. There is no way to become the world without being stained by the World. Our Lord did not say, “Take courage, I have become the World.” He said, “Take courage, I have overcome the World.”
In the wilderness, Jesus was offered the World. The condition? Submit to the Demon. That submission remains the condition by which becoming the World is a possibility, by which we actualize on the world stage the will to power. I feel, Soutane, that you are also in the wilderness, and that this seductive temptation has come to you to test you and your faith. Do not submit to the Demon. But take courage. Our Lord has overcome the World.
I wish you peace and every blessing. My participation in this thread ends here.
