The apostles were evangelists. They preached & spread the gospel. We are called to do the same in our actions & words every day. The apostles were focused on changing the hearts of people. It is the same within our culture. If enough hearts are transformed towards Christ, our society & government will change along with the hearts of men. But it starts within each one of our circle of family, friends, co-workers, etc. There are too many Christians who are silent, who are afraid to speak up out of fear & political correctness. This silence is from Satan. We need to boldly proclaim the truth of Jesus Christ at all times. This might offend family, friends & co-workers, but oh well. Pride keeps us silent. We can’t worry if someone will like us or not. Too many Christian wimps & Christ was not a wimp.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear: but of power, and of love, and of sobriety. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but labour with the gospel, according to the power of God, Who hath delivered us and called us by his holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the times of the world. (2 Timothy 1:7-9)

Amen.Amen.Amen.

Not to sponsor ME.
Oh, so you don’t expect monetary contribution (aka sponsorship) from them? Sizeable monetary contribution at that? Then why did you speak of finding rich people to approach?
What’s wrong with contacting the Founder of Domino’s Pizza for goodness sake.He built a Catholic Town did he not?
Well there you go. You’ve found your Catholic millionaire - go get him.
We need the equivalent.God gave certain Catholics certain resources,we should enlist them.
Yes, and Catholics in ages past have always known that PEOPLE are by far our greatest resource, not wealth. Look at all the good Mother Teresa did, all the influence she has had, without having to target millionaires to find the funds she needed.

Mobilise people and they, millionaires or not, will contribute the money you need as well as spreading your message.

My problem is that I keep offering my services to do free HD video work for Catholic groups and such and nobody ever is interested. I am close to giving up in this effort.

I know what you are saying, volunteered to do my local parishes web site, even created a killer layout for it and a working game plan that would allow their staff to integrate with it, with ease. then offered to rebuild Mary’s shrine, was turned down with both, both cases, not asking for a dime from them.

I’m finding we do have what “they” want you to volunteer for, within their limited confines, and it’s just too little, simply not enough. You have to just strike on your own here, lead through example by simply helping others in the parish that need it, authorities or no authorities, if you have the skills, use them.

I have to add onto what I mentioned earlier along mobilization, we must get both sides, protestants and catholics to lay their differences to the side and unite towards these common goals. this has been my intention from a while back, and still is. a huge part of it is through education and throwing out the misinformation each sides holds against each other, we are slowly doing this with forums like this, but it’s not enough, we as catholics should make our presence known within their churches, and vice versa. we have far more in common then we do uncommon, make that point clear.

Once we have made significant progress in this area, we have an army that’s united for the cause, think of the volume of good things we could accomplish together, we would then be the majority, and in this society, the majority rules.

It’s not MY message. It’s OUR message. Thanks for the lecture.

The time for civil disobedience and personal revolution is here.We must be willing to be persecuted and jailed for our faith as ST Paul was and suffer literal crucifixtion if we must. All this whinging and complaining on these Catholic boards is beginning to sicken me.We are speaking to the converted or arguing about how many angels can dance on the head of a pin-it strikes me a Pharasical.Christ didn’t argue HE DID.So did His apostles and every single one was martyred except John…Let’s not emulate the Muslims but Ghandi and offer up our bodies and become figurative and literal martyrs.Let us conduct worldwide sit ins and passive resistance. Some will be hurt and some will die but ENOUGH!!!
You Americans where is your revolutionary spirit?.The greatest flag in the world is the coiled rattlesnake with "don’t tread on me"Perhaps one of the Body,Blood.Soul and Divinity with the same slogan is more apropos. The time for talk is over.the time for action is now.I don’t have a clue as to how one can start a movement but historically movements were started by the Faithful. Now is the time for or a Crusade against immoral secularism and the sidelining of Christianity.Christians are in the vast majority in both our countries but we feel alone and isolated and helpless. For GOD"S SAKE let’s DO SOMETHING.Come on we have smart powerful professional people here-LET IT BEGIN HERE…
Maybe, we can start with baby steps by making ourselves “visible” Catholics.
  1. Wear a cross/crucifix pin or something similar. Be not afraid.
  2. Do not be afraid to comment on news with misleading headlines wherever and whenever you come across them. It can be done sweetly but, firmly to offer your challenge as to motive, unsubstantiated and lack of further background and details behind each article.
  3. Organise a Rosary Crusade. It is Our Lady’s month and a good time to start one.
Just that for now. 🙂

Everyone should sign the Manhattan Declaration, that may be a good starting point too. It was started last year and was written by some prominent Christians, including some of our Bishops. It pretty much says that we will not sit quietly while the governement takes away our religious freedoms among other things. Give it a look and sign on. I got most of my parish to sign it, you can too.

sorry, here is a link to the website: manhattandeclaration.org/home.aspx

After you sign on you can get updates and plan of action emails as well.

Grace & Peace!
Governments would crumble and would consult with US instead of the minority seculars of the world about laws etc.
My Parish priest says "be in the world, not of it"We can BECOME the world!
Soutane, I admire your zeal. But the two quotes from you above reveal the weak foundation of your project–you wish to remake the Kingdom of God into the image of the Kingdom of the World. Look at history. See how many people wished to create the Kingdom of God on earth and see how all of them slowly (or quickly) became the Kingdom of the World. You may protest and say your motives are pure. I believe they are. You may say God is on your side because you are a faithful Catholic. Fine. But your project, your intentions, are colored by a jealous anger which covets what the World has. That is pride. Not God. I am being brutally honest. If you continue down this path, you will fail and your intentions will come to nothing.

There is nothing that the world has that is worth coveting. Period. There is no government or authority structure that the World models or endorses that is worth pursuing. Period. There is no way to become the world without being stained by the World. Our Lord did not say, “Take courage, I have become the World.” He said, “Take courage, I have overcome the World.”

In the wilderness, Jesus was offered the World. The condition? Submit to the Demon. That submission remains the condition by which becoming the World is a possibility, by which we actualize on the world stage the will to power. I feel, Soutane, that you are also in the wilderness, and that this seductive temptation has come to you to test you and your faith. Do not submit to the Demon. But take courage. Our Lord has overcome the World.

I wish you peace and every blessing. My participation in this thread ends here.

Under the Mercy,
Mark

All is Grace and Mercy! Deo Gratias!

“Birth control pill turns 50 yrs. old.”
“Chinese baby is born with syphilis every hour.”
“41% of births in the U.S. in 2008 were to unmarried women.”
“Lawrence Taylor charged with raping a 16 yr. old girl.”
“Times Square evacuated after a suspicious package was spotted.”
“2 dead in a shooting inside ‘Old Navy’ in downtown Chicago.”
“Violence in the streets of Greece.”
“Ash cloud of Iceland volcano shuts down airports in Ireland.”
“Oil spill threatening shores of the Gulf of Mexico shoreline.”
and on and on and on.
Could there be a better time to preach repentance and the Gospel of Jesus Christ?

I understand what you mean but I can’t just show up to an event and start taking video. This is something you really need official support for ahead of time. I tried this once when my parish went to the pro-life march in DC and really felt people were uncomfortable with it, never again from me without complete knowledge and support.

I could go to to march on my own and videotape however but these kind of events are few and far between.

I think I have to accept at some point that maybe God does not want me in that role at all. I guess there are other ways I can help, maybe simply praying more.

Take a page out of the homosexual hand book. It’s time for Catholics and non-Catholic Christians to Act Up.
What, including the non catholic christians who don’t happen to think that homosexual acts are on the same level of sin as catholics?

Are you including them in your bugle call?

Or just non catholic christians who you approve of?

Well, I’ve scanned all the online papers I could, and Ive still not read about your arrest

Let’s see you start with yourself.

Enticing faithful law abiding catholics to get themselves arrested, get a criminal record and all that ensues from that is pretty hardcore.

This ranks as one of the most irresponsible posts Ive ever read on the internet.

And what qualifies you to make such assessments - if ever a thing should happen, shouldnt it be the church and her hierarchy that makes that call, not some lose canon and lunchbreak internet warrior??
