O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Prayed both Morning Prayer from the Office for the Dead and a Divine Mercy chaplet for the Holy Souls in Purgatory before the Blessed Sacrament exposed for Adoration today.

I have also been asked to perform the additional duties of being sacristan for the weekday Masses close to where I live,but not in my regular or home parish anymore. ( I never even got a chance to volunteer - somebody did it for me . . . and, with all I already do, I have to admit to feeling trapped, coerced, and to feeling sort of 😖 about it all , though I try not to let it show). I’ve been doing these additional duties for about 6 or 7 weeks now.

A couple of weeks ago, something changed : I had been reading excerpts and quotes about St.Padre Pio, when I stumbled across several of them in which St. Padre Pio spoke about certain souls who were in Purgatory because of the lack of respect they exhibited before/towards the Blessed Sacrament. Now, each trip out to the sanctuary , carrying from the sacristy the cruets, the chalice, the ciboria, the lectionary, the missal, the microphones. . . becomes an opportunity to bow or genuflect before Jesus in the tabernacle and ask him for relief, a reprieve , or a release for those souls who are in Purgatory because of a lack of respect shown towards the Blessed Sacrament. And the periodic disgruntlement becomes a great thing to offer to God for the holy souls during the Mass itself.

God knows what He’s doing with me - even when I protest. 🙏 👍

O Gentlest Heart of Jesus, ever present in the Blessed Sacrament, ever consumed with burning love for the poor captive souls in Purgatory, have mercy on the soul of Thy departed servant. Be not severe in Thy judgment but let some drops of Thy Precious Blood fall upon the devouring flames, and do Thou, O merciful Savior send Thy angels to conduct Thy departed servant to a place of refreshment, light and peace.
