… are you yourself willing to adopt the unwanted babies and convince your friends to adopt them as well?

This is an interest of mine, as it seems that it is Republicans who want the government to ban abortion also do not like the government paying for social welfare (which Democrats support).

Discuss.
Don, I’ve been thinking of you. if I even found a girl who wanted an abortion, and offered to adopt her child…what do you think the chances are that she’d take me up on it? If I walked up to a girl about to enter an abortion clinic, asked her to reconsider the abortion, asked her to consider giving the ultimate gift (of life) to her child, and told her I would love to adopt her child…what do you think the chances are that she’d go for it? Even if I were to get lucky and find someone to take me up on the offer, what would they want in return? If 20 people walked up to an abortion clinic and make the same offer to 20 pregnant women…how many do you suppose would take up the offer? They get free prenatal care, and free delivery, so it’s not like they can’t afford to actually carry and have the baby. They don’t need help paying for the cost of prenatal healthcare or for delivery. What I’m saying is, I’m sure I’m not alone when I say, I’d love to save one of those kids from abortion. I’m sure I’m not alone when I say that I’d love to take two children and save them from abortion. But I doubt we would be taken up on our offer. So…I don’t think it’s a matter of anti-abortion people putting their money where their mouth is…people are desperate to adopt children in danger of abortion.

What news paper did you read that in? I can’t find it anywhere. I can’t say that Catholic Charities is the ONLY adoption agency that is out for the best interest of children, only that it IS an adoption agency that is out for the best interest of children and has been for some time. It has an incredible track record and it isn’t in the best interest of the kids to shut it down.

As people on both sides of the issue argue, and lawyers wait for a court decision on the matter, caseworkers were left wondering what would happen to the more than 300 children affected by the change. Almost immediately after the Rockford Diocese made the announcement, caseworkers began having meetings with other child welfare agencies in the area, and on Thursday, a decision was made.
The Youth Services Bureau of Illinois Valley, based in Ottawa, Ill., has been working with Illinois families since 1971, and **will take over not only the 300-plus Catholic Charities cases, but bring in the Catholic Charities support staff as well. **

For the record, the list of “wanting to adopt” is quite long. The “Unwanted-babies-how- many-will-you-adopt?” question is sort of silly.

You won’t find a single Republican who wants to stop social welfare programs altogether
You found one. Well at least if you insert the word “government” in front of “social welfare programs”, which I think was the intended meaning. Do I think poor people should starve to death in the gutters? No, I do not. I think family, churches, neighbors, and private charities can offer love and care for those in need. Government programs are not love.

Social security for example is a pyramid scheme. Any private individual who attempted to run a similar program would end up in jail. The government forces people to participate OR else go to jail. Charity enduced at the point of a gun is not charity.

I know a few others like me. So we are out there, just thouht I’d let you know.

Pax.
