It is trite that it is best that children are born and grow up in two parent families. Of course it is harder for a single parent, However, it is possible and not uncommon for single parents to bring up well adjusted, happy children.
You find two parent families “trite”? Do you even know what “trite” means?

While it is possible for children of a single parent to be well adjusted - and no one disputes that fact - it just isn’t as common as you would like people to think.

Actually you accused the other poster of being racist - a comment I did not understand at all because as he pointed out the issue isn’t limited to any single race. A point I expanded on in showing issues with single parenthood are worldwide - even in the extremely “single” friendly nations like Sweden and the UK. Apparently the moderators also found your post offensive because they deleted it and any post that quoted it.
Actually i didnt accuse the other person of being racist, i responded to his post about children from single parents not being able to do well.

the additional comment about race was with regard to the actual newspaper article that separate all single mothers by their ‘race’ which i pointed out is the human race.

Im sure the poster does know what trite means - mean thats boring from to much use

Tim Russert, may he rest in peace, gave my law school graduation class a great commencement speech, and one of the things he said was:

“Get an education. Get a job. Get married. Have kids. In that order.”

I was actually somewhat surprised that he would have made such a “controversial”, traditional comment, considering he was a Democrat. But Tim Russert wasn’t just a Democrat. He was a devout Catholic who spent a lot of time working on social justice projects.

A statement I later heard attributed to him is “if there’s an issue that Democrats, Republicans, conservatives and liberals can agree on, it’s our kids.”

I sure hope that’s still true, Mr. Russert…

Tomarin: You have to study the rudements of the Gaelic, Celtic, language origins. Authorititave, that’s a good question. Both languages have been influenced by Norse, Saxon, and many words of the Celtic Gaelic language have been assimilated into the Norman/Saxon middle age English. Fitz is one of those words. If you read Wikipedia, it will tell you that Fitz was reserved for illegimate sons of royalty, not quite true, just a point in time. The word “fils” comes from the Latin word “Filus” meaning “son”. Many mistake that for the origin of Fitz. Not true. As I said before, those bronze age people that followed the animals and fowls across the land bridge had a rudimentary language, which after many thousands of years became Celtic, Gaelic, Welsh, etc. While some words are the same in all three languages, many are different as dialects turn into another language form by distance and time. That’s the way I learned from my professors. I’ve studied what is called modern Celtic and Gaelic and found both to be very hard to use as both are very gutteral and hard to sound, much like an oriental trying to say “L” in English pronounciation. My avatar Sinnseanair means great grandfather in Gaelic. Please do not ask the conjugation, I am not that well versed. The word structure of these languages have correlation, but unlike Latin it is not strict such as filius, “us” always meaning masculine and fili, “i” meaning singualr possessive as in “In nomeni Patri, et Fili, et Spiritu Sancti” You must also remember that today’s version of Gaelic and Celtic are but memories since these languages were forbidden to be spoken by conquering nations for a number of years. So, the word fitz originally came from Gaelic, assimilated into middle English and on to today’s phonebooks. Originally it meant to label a man’s son born out of wedlock, to connote the law of primogeniture or the law of the oldest son inheriting the father’s wealth, farm, fields, cattle, etc. and one born out of wedlock was unable to fall under that law. The primogeniture law is one of the oldest sustained laws of many cultures. So, if you were named John and married and that marriage produced a son, his name became John’s son or today’s Johnson in English. If John happened to mess around and produce an illegimate son, that was FitzJohn or the bastard child of John. John’s son inherited all of John’s holdings while FitzJohn or today’s Fitzjohn got nothing. Most Celtic Gaelic men had only first names for centuries until there became clans of extended families. “Mac” in Celtic mean literally "of the clan of, not the son of. O’ stems from the famous Irishman Brian Bararu, a king of Ireland whose family after he was killed called themselves “Of Brian” or today’s O’Brian. That is how most Celtic and Gaelic surnames names were founded and traced. In Gaelic, since I am a grandfather I would be called “seanair”. As a great grandfather, I am called “sinnseanair”. Much like Grandfather or in the Southern United States Grannpaw, and Great Grannpaw. The superlative added to connote generation. You must remember that the Celtic and Gaelic dialects that became languages are far older that a Norman Saxon mixture which became middle english, a forerunner to today’s modern english and about 70 or so percent of American English. There may a small correlation between the ancient peoples that became the Normans and the ancient peoples that became the Celts and Gaels in that both have common ancestors in a rudimentary language used by the people of the bronze age to include those who left to follow the food across the land bridge between what is now France, England and Ireland becoming cut off when the melting waters of the Ice Age that overflowed that land bridge making today’s English Channel and Irish Sea. If you want absolute truth, you’re going to study the origins of these languages as I did many years ago. There are more twists and turns than there are myths retold often enough to make them sound true. Good Luck and God Bless.

Your problem is you are mixing your religious beliefs with science. That is never a good idea.
When did I ever suggest this?
It took millions of human years to change a black skin pigment to pale, but that is just a blip in God’s time. What you fail to understand is that with today’s mixing of races and the continuing of that over how rapidly we can visit each other worldwide these days just speeds up that human innerwhining. We now know what genes are dominant and recessive. So when those 23 chormosomes from a male and 23 chromosomes from a female come together, it matters not which race each are from today and the product of that coming together becomes, as you say, another group. Over a long period of time, that constant intermingling of those 23 plus 23 chromosomes will widen the gene pool to a point of sameness. It is part of the chaos theory. Humans will mate, that is God’s will. At one point in time all humans were dark skinned by the fossil record or maybe just after the first click on God’s clock of the sixth day. With the migrations and environment change over millions of years that black skin pigment changed, eye shapes changed, facial features changed. All that happened in but another click of God’s clock or in human time the last era of known fossil records. Today, we travel faster that the speed of sound. How fast are we going to travel a thousand years from now? Today we can control our environment. What are we going to be able to do two thousand years from now? Now 1500-2000 years is but a microscope dot on the fossil record and by extension a very slight microscopic movement of God’s clock.
Evolution could be still be taking place and I understand this. When people started to visit new enviroments, they adapted and thus we have people with different skin color, different features. With “races” now interbreeding with one another, you get a new group. I just don’t think that the human race will be one color even with interbreeding with other “races” because these people will have to adapt to the places they are in and these places are completely different and not one place is the same.
So, one can fairly estimate that within the next 1500-2000 of human years we are all going to be one race. Why, because it is happening all around us as we look. We may have several nations with differing laws and languages, but we will still be human, just a human as we all are today just with similar human features. We just will look more like each other. Today, I cannot tell a German from a Canadian. I cannot tell one Asian from another. I cannot even tell the child of a Canadian and an Asian, many times from one of mine. That is a good thing. Red, Yellow, Blue, Black, White, Green, Polka Dot, or Plaid still have the same genes and it still takes the same 23 chromosomes from a male and female to make a child. To say that races will remain is to say that all animals will always be as they are today. Not comparaing, but that will just not happen either. According to the Holy Scriptures we are in the sixth God’s day of the fossil record. The question is how far are we into it? Those that study these things for a living say that it is still the dawn of the Sixth day and we have a long way to go. Please do not take the tiny point in either our or God’s time and the final end all. We are just beginning. As soon as we can figure out that we are all one people under 10 basic laws in a few nanoseconds of God’s time, we will then find the peace that he has for us.
We already are ONE RACE and always have been except that within this race there are groups with different skin colors that occurred because of natural selection. Just because we look different doesn’t mean we are. As I already said through natural selection these “races” will evolve and one day may look different than before. But as I already said, it is unlikely that as the “races” continue to interbreed, the human race will look one day have the same features and skin color overall. Simply because as I said above people will have to adapt as our ancestors did to the areas in which they live and not one place is the same.

This is what I think. Maybe I’m wrong and you’re right. Or vice versa. A theory is just that. A theory.

A statement I later heard attributed to him is “if there’s an issue that Democrats, Republicans, conservatives and liberals can agree on, it’s our kids.”

Judging from the posts here, apparently not.

Until we the people can vote in the representatives that will return our country’s laws to cover as it says in the Declaration of Independence in part, “provide the opportunity for” vice entitle, we will contunue on this path. If we can set laws that provide equal opportunity for all Americans to pursue happiness and not give it to them on a silver platter, we will continue on this path.

As several have said, “we should provde a safety net, not a hammock”.

Personally, I grew up next to a Catholic Orphanage. I can recall monthly adoption meetings at that orphanage where families came and adopted infants and children, as my father told me “all in one day”. I can recall my grandfather giving money to that orphanage for the care of those children. I can recall a few of those children that literally grew to adulthood in that orphanage. Today that cannot happen. Now that orphanage is called Social Services and is ran under the laws of the state and federal governments.

All I ask of my elected representative is to allow that orphanage to reappear and operate under the guidelines of Faith Based Organizations such as our Catholic Church. I ask that neither the state nor federal government have laws governing the operation of any faith based orphanage.

I also grew up near a home for unwed mothers-to-be, although I never heard about it until it closed down after I enlisted in the Marine Corps in the 1950’s, Niave as I was. I ask my elected representative that those homes reappear, again, under the complete guidance of Faith Based Organizations such as our Catholic Church. Again, I ask that neither any state nor federal agencies have any laws governing the operation of those homes.

I ask that all public schools be free of all female students with child that are not legally married, and that no entitlements be granted to those ladies; with only laws governing the requirement of the father paying for their unborn, then born child as a matter of common law record.

I ask my elected representative that all state and/or federal funding of any form of planned parenthood cease immediately and that burden be placed with Faith Based Organizations such as our Catholic Church with no laws pertaining to the governing thereof under the First Amendment of our Constitution.

This does not mention the doctrines of any faith.

In finality, I ask my representative that Faith Based Doctrines shall not be questioned or have any form of federal, state, or local government laws pertaining to them under the First Amendment of our Constitution.

It’s election year, please pass this one to your elected representatives as I am doing.

These are very harsh requests. However, if they are not undertaken in form, what we have today in America wil continue and multiply exponentially and we shall break under the burden of entitlements.

This is the fruit of the sexual revolution. Our president thinks that the answer to poverty is with free abortion and contraception. When in reality, these vices degrade our society and increase poverty.

Rather, sex outside of marriage failed her. It’s telling that Obama-care will fund contraceptives and abortifacients but not education for NFP methods which would educate women and men about the fertility cycle rather than dehumanizing them with the contraceptive mentality. But of course, the pharmaceutical giants are making a fortune on the pill. Better keep people in the dark.
Dr Ray made the interesting comment that we live in the strange world where unmarried women get high-fives for having children and married women are belittled for having more than two kids.

Art321. Too bad neither of us humans will be around to see it.
True. The future is something we can never truly predict and it is something that we shouldn’t try to do anyway. Anything might happen. Maybe in 1,000 years we will find a way to travel through space and hopfully find an Earth-like planet to live on. Or not to mention, Our Lord will come back. After He returns, we will be like the angels in heaven remember? No more marriage and the things that come with it.

But what I am trying to say is that we don’t know the future. It can possibly go in a million directions. But let us try and built one with Chirst as the center of it all. Maybe then, most births will actually take place within marriage.

JC: Nice to hear from a real Irishman, not one like me who’s ancestors came to America on a boat. I spent several summers there researching this very subject. I respectfully disagree with you about the term Fitz being introduced to Ireland by the Anglo Norman as I have related those facts that I learned from Irish Gaelic historians on both sides of the Atlantic. I never hinted that you were wrong, I even never saw a post from you before today. However, if you are a Gaelic Historian I would be very interested in hearing your views as to when it was introduced as I was told by other Irish historians that it was just as I said. What were the views of Gaelic Irishmen on legitmate versus illegitmate in your opinion? I agree that middle ages Normans were of those assimilated by the Norse, but were not also the Gael also, or at the very least had some children of raped women from Viking raids and some of their language also assimilated? Since the Anglo Norman era began in 1066 where was the term Fitz in Gaelic before that? I have learned that that term was in the Gaelic language far before 1066. When I pull up the Gaelic Dictionary today, the specific term Fitz in not there. But, then I recall that all those who spoke Gaelic were forced to cease by the English for hundreds of years and only spoken in hushed tones up to and including the 20th century. Sein Fein, we Irish and descendents of Irish have a common cause. Just like our own American History is very wrong and slanted in several places, I now question that, with your post, our Gaelic Irish History may be some the same. So I look forward to your post. God Bless. May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

JC: Was not that half sister named Elizabeth? And didn’t Henry Fitzroy eventually marry then die at an early age of probably the same disease as his younger half brother Edward II. I believe it was call “consumption” in those days. Today is is called tuberculosis.

As I said, these fellow professors of Science, mathematics, International Relations, and even mass migration predicted that within 1500-2000 years we would all look very much alike. There is no doubt we are all of the human race, but that was their prediction. I see merit in it.

As you say, we may be living on various planets by that time and intermingled with humans that look like science fiction creatures of Star Trek. Or just like us as we are all made in God’s image.

Somehow, I personally think we are the beginning, rather than the end result. I think God has some wonderful plans for humans in the future. I hope that those humans that will look back on this time as very ignorant. I recall voicing that opinion at the seminar.

I have no doubt that God will still be there as he has always been and always will be.

That subject came up in a week long seminar of the future of the world, complete with mathematic equations, trend lines, the works. So, take it for what it is worth, A SWAK, or what we call a Scientific Wild *** Guess. As you say no one can accurately pedict the future.

I do know this for a fact, if we do not get our collective heads our of our posteriors we are going to be up that creek without a paddle in our time.

SamH;8988315:
Perhaps you should go back and read the post I replied to. The person was very rude in their reply and accused another poster of being racist for simply stating a documented fact.

I believe you are talking about me i was offended by what was written by someone, and responded, I wasn’t being racist at all.

I just made a point that there isnt a white race black race etc just the human race,
You certainly were not being rascist, just the opposite in fact. My apologies for mis-spelling your name,

This is hilarious, you obviously have a problem with understanding.

As I would like people to think? I am sure people here are able to think for themselves.

The fact that women often bear the greater consequences does not mean that women should bear the greater responsibility. Both men and women should take responsibility for their actions. I could say that as long as men, want free sex we will never solve the problems of out of wedlock births. Some married couples do resort to abortion and practise contraception, you do know?
what does married couples practicing birth control have to do with unwed mothers?

we’ve had more than 40 years of ‘sex education’. When was the last time you saw a movie or a tv show where the couple waited until marriage to have sex? children will do what they see modeled. Sex has been removed from procreation and been taught that it is a recreation to be enjoyed by all… until ‘oops’ some how an ‘unplanned’ pregnancy happens. Then the mother and only the mother has the right, and therefore the greater responsibility, to decide to keep the baby or kill it.
