Agreed, especially because they recieve governement aid. I have one Catholic friend who also attends the same university. They found out he was going to Mass and said he was only allowed to go while school was not in session. I asked him the same question and he said that there was apparently a legal loophole that occurred when we signed a form agreeing to abide by the university rules when we were accepted. I could also get in trouble if they knew I was on this website. (Hence the reason I am connected to my data and not the university’s network…

I recently obtained my Masters from a Baptist university. My religion prof made a comment that Augustine has had the most influence on Christianity, second to Christ. He is one of the early church fathers! This statement started my journe

How tragically sad on that Baptist Universities head! I will remember you in my prayers tonight!

Wow that’s amazing! Do you have any resources you would recommend such as where to find Augustines writings?

Just Google. I buy most of my books from the Catholic Company. Libraries would have Augustine.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

This one guy on Journey Home said he was teaching at a Protestant school and his wife was pregnant. He was convinced of the truth of the Catholic Church because of the Eucharist. He knew he would have to become Catholic. It came time for him to renew his contract and he had to fill in some kind of pledge (no Catholics allowed to teach at that school…) He signed the contract and added an amendment about believing the truth of the Catholic Church. They called him in and terminated his employment… Luckily, God sent him to another school to teach Mathematics…

Thank you, this gives me something to think about. Do you remember his name?

🙂 Hello there! Former Baptist here. I highly reccomend Steve Ray’s talks:

My questions were answered in a large part through the Catholic Answers podcast and the rest were answered in RCIA.

Also, Go to mass anyway 😉

I really want to, but I have to wait until a spring or summer break. If I go while I’m in school, my Baptist university will kick me out of college. If that happens not only would I have to start school over, but it would bring more disapproval from my parents who are not in agreement with Catholicism (Btw I live on my own and am in my mid 20s). The university’s decision would probably get back to my Baptist pastor who would then convince my parents to take a stronger stand against my search. So far, even though my parents don’t agree with Catholicism, they have been fairly understanding of why I am searching.

May your journey prove fruitful…

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be, Fatima, Amen!

Praying for you and your journey!

May you find true peace…in the Lord!
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be, Fatima, AMEN!
