What would happen if the Holy See resigned from the United Nations, as a protest against the UN agenda of abortion-on-demand, same-sex marriage, transsexualism, etc?

Then it would be an outsider with less influence. Keep in mind that some years ago, the Church joined with, among others, Muslims in working against the NGOs which were pushing abortion as a requirement for aid. And did so successfully.

The Vatican does not seem to share the disdain for the UN as many US conservatives seem to.

Each recent Pope has been an active participant in working with the UN.
 
I believe that Vatican City is technically not a member of the United Nations, they are a “permanent observer”, and therefore do not vote on any resolutions.
