And of course the republican party’s opposition to abortion is nothing like a fire extinguisher. So you are right, we are required to oppose evil in a rational and serious way, and one is not required to vote republican to do that. There is nothing in Catholic teaching that even hints at that.

I don’t think they speak in tongues at evangelical Presbyterian churches. In fact, most evangelicals don’t speak in tongues. Okay. But, they don’t always just stand. Sometimes they run around the periphery of the church. (Not mocking them…just stating a fact from my personal experiences in Pentecostal churches and having fun with the language).

Can you answer why you would be shocked to find an Evangelical church in NYC in your neighborhood. Are you implying educated intellectuals don’t speak in tongues?

Actually, in reading the Introduction to the pastor’s book (that’s as far as I’ve gotten), he was laughed at and dismissed as crazy, when he started his church (now with 5,000 people) because of the lack of believers in Manhattan. I’m not surprised that LiberalPrincess shares the same attitude towards religious believers that many secularists have.
