Totus Tuus

O Jesus, you are the Eternal High Priest. Because you are true God and true
man, you are the only Mediator between God and man. Through you, the merciful
Father gives man salvation and through you, man is led back to Him.

You have established priests and Fr. Allard as your collaborators to perpetuate in the Holy
Mass, the Sacrifice of your death on the Cross and to sanctify souls through
their ministry.

O Jesus, choose from all the people of the world worthy and numerous ministers
so that all souls may find salvation. O Jesus, Savior of the world, sanctify your
priests and seminarians.

O God, who have established your only-begotten Son as the Eternal High Priest,
grant, we beseech you, that those who are chosen by Christ as ministers of your
mysteries may be kept always faithful in the fulfillment of their service. Through our
Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, in the unity of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
~Pope Paul VI

My God and Father, in response to the word of your Son on the Mount
of Olives, “Watch and pray with me,” we ask you to accept us as special
helpers for Fr. Allard your priest, on behalf of whom, we offer you each Thursday as
a sacrifice of love.
With a fervent desire of being such a helper of priests, I offer you, Father,
in complete confidence, each Thursday as a sacrifice of love on behalf of
all priests. Take this sacrifice of my poor love and transform it in your Heart
into the wine for the Chalice of Strength. Then, Father, send your angels
out with this chalice to all priests! Amen.

To Jesus through Mary for Fr. Allard and his Chaplain Assistant

Look kindly Lord, on your priests, religious and laymen who left all to witness to your word and your love. Be to each one of them a “powerful protector and their strong support, their shade from the midday sun, their shelter from the desert wind, a guard against stumbling, an assurance against a fall…” (Ecc 34:19).

Sustain them in difficult moments, direct their strength, console their hearts and crown their works with spiritual victories. Let them not seek for earthly success or the goods of this world, but only your triumph and the good of souls.

Your Cross, which accompanies them through their lives, speaks to them of heroism, renunciation and of peace. Be their comfort, their guide, their light and their strength, so that your name may be announced everywhere and that, surrounded by a larger and larger number of your children, they may sing a hymn of thanksgiving, of glory and redemption. Amen.

-Pope John XXIII

To Jesus through Mary for Fr. Allard and his Chaplain Assistant

O Mary, Mother of Jesus
you were with Jesus
at the beginning of His life and mission.
You stood beside Jesus when He was lifted
on the cross and gave His life for all.
We ask you now to be with our priests and Fr. Allard,
who give themselves in service to God’s people.
Intercede for them that they may grow in holiness;
proclaim God’s word with courage;
celebrate the sacraments with joy;
and be among God’s people as Jesus,
the Good Shepherd, was.
We offer this prayer to God, the Father,
through your intercession,
in the name of your Son, Jesus,
and through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Amen

To Jesus through Mary for Fr. Allard and NI

Mother of our Redeemer, in this era dedicated to you, with great joy we call you blessed. You believed in the Word of God the father and declared yourself His handmaid, and so, through you, the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us. We salute you as Mother, our Mother, the Mother of the Church. With what great love you must have watched over the infant Church and what motherly solicitude encouraged the apostles as they committed themselves to carry on the work of Your Divine Son on earth. Make the Church ever to be the sign and instrument of intimate union with God.

To you, our Mother, we entrust in a special way all priests and Fr. Allard. To them has been given a special sharing in the priesthood of Your Divine Son. He has chosen them to be ministers of His Word and Sacrament. Ask Him to fill them with zeal, to keep them faithful and joyful in His service, conscious of the fact that they care and so bring glory to the father and honor to the Church.

Holy Mother, increase the ranks of our priests by inspiring our young people to be more generous in their response to serve Jesus in the priesthood and in religious life. Sustain all of us, O Virgin Mary, on our journey of faith and obtain for us the grace of eternal salvation. Amen.

To Jesus through Mary for Fr. Allard and his Chaplain Assistant.

O Jesus, our great High Priest,
Hear my humble prayers on behalf of the Pope, all Cardinals, all Bishops, all priests and Fr. Allard and his Chaplain Assistant.

Give them a deep faith
a bright and firm hope
and a burning love
which will ever increase
in the course of their priestly life.

In their loneliness, comfort them
In their sorrows, strengthen them
In their frustrations, point out to them
that it is through suffering that their souls are purified,
and show them that they are needed by the Church,
they are needed by souls,
they are needed for the work of redemption.

O loving Mother Mary, Mother of Priests,

take to your heart your son Fr. Allard who is close to you
because of his priestly ordination,
and because of the power which they have received
to carry on the work of Christ
in a world which needs them so much.

Be his comfort, be his joy, be his strength, and especially help all priests and Fr. Allard
to live and to defend the ideals of consecrated celibacy.

Amen.

St. Padre Pio

To Jesus through Mary for Fr. Allard and his Chaplain Assistant NI 🙂

Dear Lord, we pray that the Blessed Mother wrap her mantle around your priest Fr. Allard and his Chaplain Assistant and through her intercession strengthen them for their ministry. We pray that Mary will guide your priests to follow her own words, “Do whatever He tells you” (Jn 2:5). May your priest Fr. Allard and his Chaplain Assitant have the heart of St. Joseph, Mary’s most chaste spouse. May the Blessed Mother’s own pierced heart inspire them to embrace all who suffer at the foot of the cross. May Fr. Allard + NI be holy, filled with the fire of your love seeking nothing but your greater glory and the salvation of souls. Amen.

St John Vianney, pray for us.

Prayer for Priests (**esp. for Fr. Allard **) - To Be Said to Saint John Vianney Who Composed It

Pray that God may give to His Church today many more Priests after His Own Heart. Pray for all Priests under thy patronage, that they may be worthy representatives of Christ the Good Shepherd. May they wholeheartedly devote themselves to prayer and penance; by examples of humility and poverty; shining models of holiness; tireless and powerful preachers of the Word of God; zealous dispensers of God’s Grace in the Sacraments. May their loving devotion to Jesus in the Eucharist and to Mary His Mother be the Twin Fountains of fruitfulness for their ministry. Amen.

The Beautiful Hands Of A Priest (Fr. Allard)

We need them in life’s early morning, we need them again at its close;
We feel their warm clasp of friendship, we seek them when tasting life’s woes.
At the altar each day we behold them, and the hands of a king on his throne
Are not equal to them in their greatness; their dignity stands all alone;
And when we are tempted and wander, to pathways of shame and sin,
It’s the hand of a priest that will absolve us – not once, but again and again;
And when we are taking life’s partner, other hands may prepare us a feast,
But the hand that will bless and unite us, is the beautiful hand of a priest.
God bless them and keep them all holy, For the Host which their fingers caress;
When can a poor sinner do better, than to ask Him to guide thee and bless?
When the hour of death comes upon us, may our courage and strength be increased.
By seeing raised over us in anointing, the beautiful hands of a priest!

Where Father Allard is institutionalized, only 3 Masses per week are officially celebrated by the Chaplain: Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. I always assist him on Sunday…only rarely now on Tuesdays and Thursdays however since there is another volunteer who loves to help him on those days and helping him concelebrate during a weekday Mass is much less complicated. Friday and Saturday I help him preside privately.

(Fr. Allard has been institutionalized about 9 years now) Fr. Allard would preside (celebrate privately) every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday faithfully until about 5 years ago – when it became too much for him. In all of those 9 years, he has not been able to preside w/o a properly trained assistant. Another person used to share that assistant position with me for several years up until that time 5 years ago – when the other person erroneously claimed Fr. Allard was no longer capable of celebrating Mass due to certain obstacles.

At that time the routine was changed : concelebration Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays and presiding privately Fridays and Saturdays. This routine has continued for the last 5 years. It would take up a ton of pages to explain how we’ve endured certain setbacks and overcome/circumvented all the things that have threatened to stop Fr. Allard celebrating Mass (especially presiding).

Yet, after all those solutions due to human ingenuity – even ingenuity inspired by the Holy Spirit have been exhausted, it will always be reduced to the simplest form : We’re left with nothing to cling to but our faith…and the only way to get past obstacles at that point is to pray our way through them. This is the point we’re at now (when I say we, I’m welcoming aboard everyone praying for Fr. Allard with much gratitude for your prayers).

We may recall here that St. Augustine said, “Faith is belief in those things we cannot see…and the reward of that faith is that we will see all that we have believed.” I know now he wasn’t only talking about heaven, because thanks to everyone’s prayers for Fr. Allard, I’m beginning to see certain things…fruits if you like … things that medical science might find partially perplexing or a little awkward to fully explain.

On Tuesday and Thursday of this week (Sept. 8 & 10 ), Father Allard successfully concelebrated the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass with the Chaplain. Yesterday when I phoned the other volunteer to get the (Tuesday +Thursday) summary, she told me that Fr. Allard had no voice (this happens frequently) although he concelebrated successfully. She added that he was looking a lot thinner :sad_yes: than we were used to seeing him.

Today, I wondered if he would be strong enough to celebrate Mass, and when I went up to his room this morning, thin as he was, he looked at me with determination and said (audibly between coughs), “ Today I can do it!” …:yup:

Although I’ve learned to fine tune my ears for whispering and have learned to read his lips in French to know where he is in the celebration of the Mass when he is w/o an audible voice, none of that was necessary today. Although he had no voice yesterday, today it was fairly clear. He only had one coughing bout, as he was reading the closing prayer, but it passed. There were 5 other people in attendance (3 of them patients) and they were happy to see Father Allard celebrating (presiding) once again.

After Mass, he said to me in a clear voice, “Now we’re going to pray the Rosary”; and although it would end up making him a little late for lunch, we prayed the Sorrowful mysteries with Fr. Allard saying the responses clearly and audibly – flawlessly.

What I would consider surely a major indicator of the power of everyone’s prayers was that for the first time in over a month, today I saw Fr. Allard smile and actually chuckle on several occasions. We are scheduled to attempt to have him preside tomorrow – Saturday Sept. 12.

I had asked the Guardian Angels of all praying for Fr. Allard to come to the Mass today and bring you back blessings. Fr. Allard also asked me to thank you for praying for him.

THANK-YOU

:grouphug:

And God Bless you all.

Hail Mary, full of grace.
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God

and at the hour of our death.

  2. Apostles Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen.

First Glorious Mystery - The Resurrection

Jesus arises from the dead and appears to the Apostles.

At times, Fr. Allard and his assistant may suffer from depression and despair that plague them when they see so little from their labors. We pray that Fr. Allard + NI will remember: the Crucifixion is followed by the Resurrection; darkness is always followed by the Light. We pray that they may share the joy of the Risen Christ.
