Dear Fr. Allard,

You’re my hero. Thank you for all you are doing for us. Thank you for all you are doing for God. May God continue to bless you and hold you so dearly in the palm of His hand. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray that, God willing, you be healed and now of all affliction and restored to perfect health.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of Thy faithful. Enkindle them with the fire of Thy Love. Send forth Thy Spirit and we shall be created and Thou shallt renew the face of the earth.

In the name of Jesus Christ, may God’s Will be done!

Love,
Elizabeth

Hail Mary and rosary prayers continue…
Fr. Allard is not forgotten…

BRIEF

Father Allard hasn’t been strong enough to preside. To compound things, the Institute has had to limit people congregating so Masses have been cancelled temporarily. Father Allard has been through some rough times during his 9-year-and-counting road to Calvary. Several times it meant being quarantined (entire ward…once -the entire Institute) … in a particular instance for almost 40 days - he didn’t even get to celebrate Easter…several times during those extreme periods we weren’t even permitted to bring him Holy Communion for almost a week.

This is just to let you know some of what he’s been through in the last 9 years (to help have an idea in our minds of who we’re praying for). If you’ll permit the analogy of the spiritual war which rages around us, these are the trenches we fight in. One of our main weapons after the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the Sacraments, is the Rosary.

Yesterday, I told him I was ready to help him preside, but he said he didn’t think he could. So I brought him Holy Communion. Afterwards we prayed a Rosary together. He is presently recieving inhalotherapy treatments to help clear out the secretions in his lungs. He’s fatigued and when that happens, morale can be wanting. I’ve managed to fan those coals in his eyes back into flame on occasion by speaking with him about those things which are plaguing the Church here in Canada (subject matter for another thread - this one is for prayer). He is a priest who not only loves his Holy Catholic Church; he loves Her passionately.

I’ll be seing him again today and if he’s up to it, I’ll find a way to have him preside. One way or the other he’ll most certainly receive Holy Communion.

I spoke with the Chaplain, and the plan is for tomorrow (Sunday Nov. 7) we’ll attempt to have Father Allard gotten up and in his chair and brought to the chapel and concelebrate privately with the chaplain. This would be fitting, since there is a Mass intention in Father Allard’s register which I have to keep rescheduling, and since at this time when he is visibly weakened, it would restore some of his dignity.

We’re going one day at a time here. This (Fr Allard concelebrating tomorrow) would be a great prayer intention for the immediate interim. Maybe we could ask our Blessed Lord and His gentle Mother- whose servant Father Allard is, to grant that request.

Thanks everyone for the prayers and love you send Father Allard. And God bless you!

Most merciful Father, in many ways you have shown your love and care to your people, especially to the poor and the sick. Because your servant St. Camillus has shown your compassion in an admirable manner, you have welcomed him among your saints. We graciously put in St. Camillus’ hands Fr Allard and through his intercession we beg you to grant Fr Allard your abundant graces through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Maronite Prayer for Priests

Remain in peace, O holy altar, in peace I will return to thee. May the Victim who has been offered upon thee be for the forgiveness of by sins and the pardon of mine offenses ; may it enable me to hold myself without stain or shame before the throne of Christ. Yet I do not know if I shall live to return and assist again at the holy Sacrifice. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost, one God, who is the beginning and end of all things. Amen.

Praying Father of Truth for Fr. Allard

(The Last Prayer of Saint Charbel before he died)

St. Charbel, pray for Fr. Allard.

Father of Truth, Here is your Son, The sacrifice in which you are well pleased. Accept him for he died for me. So through him I shall be pardoned. Here is the offering. Take it from my hands And so I shall be reconciled with you. Remember not the sins that I have committed In front of your Majesty. Here is the blood which flowered on Golgotha For my salvation and prays for me. Out of consideration for this, Accept my supplication. I have committed many sins. But your mercy is great. If you put them in the balance, Your goodness will have more weight Than the most mighty mountains. Look not upon my sins, But rather on what is offered for them, For the offering and the sacrifice Are even greater than the offences. Because I have sinned, Your beloved bore the nails and the spear. His sufferings are enough to satisfy you. By them I shall live. Glory be to the Father who sent His Son for us. Adoration be to the Son who has freed us and ensured our salvation. Blessed be he who by his love has given life to all. To Him be the glory.

BRIEF

On Sunday Nov. 7, Father Allard might have had just enough to concelebrate but they didn’t have him up and in his chair Sunday morning as they would usually do for the Mass, since the official Masses at the Institute are temporarily canceled. “Getting people up” means washing them and preparing them too - takes time.

Consequently, the Chaplain couldn’t wait until Fr. Allard was gotten up (we are still presently permitted to visit the wards and distribute Holy Communion an all day job when Masses are cancelled…can’t afford to lose an hour]). So we’re still in “wait and see” mode as to if and when he will concelebrate/preside.

I did bring him Holy Communion Sunday, and near the end of the day, had time to come back and spend 40 minutes or so with him. When I left him, I had him laughing and sporting a grin from ear to ear. That in itself was a victory, because it had been more than 4 weeks since I last saw him laugh.

I have a couple of pics taken last Sunday - will post the rest later.

*BTW last Saturday, Nov. 6, I told father Allard, “Father the people who we’re linked with through the internet aren’t only praying for you, now they say they are sending you their love too.” (Understand here he hasn’t had really any semblance of an audible voice for nearly 2 weeks now) Fathe Allard blurted out loudly in reply, "God bless them!! "

So every and each one praying for him, please consider yourself blessed by Father Allard.

Here’s a pic of the chapel where Father Allard presides privately and/or concelebrates with the Chaplain. Sundays the Mass is celebrated in the auditorium which is easily 20 times larger than the chapel. There are several benches w/kneelers right where I’m taking the pic from, but as 98% of the residents are wheelchair bound you see a lot of floor space.

…Have to run to Mass now.

Thanks for your prayers everyone :grouphug: … more pics later

Prayer to St. George:

*Heroic Christian soldier and defender of your Faith, you dared to criticize a tyrannical Emperor and were subjected to horrible torture. You could have occupied a high military position but you preferred to die for your Lord. Save your servant the priest (Fr. Allard) and obtain for us the great grace of heroic Christian courage that should mark soldiers of Christ. Amen.
