Fr. Allard you remain in my thoughts and prayers today. You are a holy inspiration. I’m sending my guardian angel to you.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

St. Padre Pio, please guard, protect and strengthen Fr. Allard. May the Virgin Mary tun all his sufferings into joy. Amen.

Thank you for praying for Fr. Allard.

When I think of Fr. Allard and his sufferings and how he has accepted them and surrendered them to Almighty God, I think about the Blessed Virgin Mother looking up at the foot of the Cross of her Son Jesus. She stood there and looked upStabat mater delorosa… the sacred scripture says. It was something very painful for Her to stand near Him and look up at Him. Yet she accepted the ministry of Her Son for the redemption and salvation of mankind.

Fr. Allard loves the Son of God and he loves us so much too. So I thank God for sending Fr. Allard to us and for us. May Almighty God be magnified and glorified now and forevermore. Amen.

Hope, he’s getting the best medical help he can! If anyone can save him it’ll be his spirit fighting for life along side of the great doctors he may be with. I wish you best of luck.

Hail Mary,

Thank you for praying for Fr. Allard… :hug3:

I. O my Jesus, You have said “Truly I say to you, ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you.” Behold I knock, I seek, and I ask for the grace of purity and sanctity for him.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be to the Father… Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

II. O my Jesus, You have said, “Truly I say to you, if you ask anything of the Father in My Name, He will give it to you.” Behold, in Your name, I ask the Father for the grace of strength for him.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be to the Father… Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

III. O my Jesus, You have said, “Truly I say to you, heaven and earth will pass away, but My words willl not pass away.” Encouraged by Your infallible words, I now ask for the grace of wisdom.

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be to the Father… Sacred Heart of Jesus, I place all my trust in you.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus, for whom it is impossible not to have compassion on the afflicted, have mercy on us sinners, and grant us the grace which we ask of You, through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Your tender mother and ours.

Hail Holy Queen . Amen

Hail Mary,

Maronite Prayer for Priests

Remain in peace, O holy altar, in peace I will return to thee. May the Victim who has been offered upon thee be for the forgiveness of by sins and the pardon of mine offences ; may it enable me to hold myself without stain or shame before the throne of Christ. Yet I do not know if I shall live to return and assist again at the holy Sacrifice. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost, one God, who is the beginning and end of all things. Amen.

Yet it is in such suffering that we often discover the most profound examples/expressions of love.

Here is the consideration for the Fourth Station of the Cross as per St. Alphonsus’ Stations of the Cross:

V: Consider how the Son met his Mother on His way to Calvary. Jesus and Mary gazed at each other and their looks became as so many arrows to wound those hearts which loved each other so tenderly.

…and from St. Alphonsus Liguori’s, The Glories of Mary; Volume I, Part II (pgs 136-137) :

"… She saw her Jesus suffering on every side. She longed to help Him, but could not.

But what caused her the greatest pain was to see that by her presence and her sorrow she was increasing the suffering of her Son. ‘The grief which filled Mary’s heart,’ says St. Bernard, ‘flowed like a torrent into the heart of Jesus and aggravated His martyrdom to such an extent that on the cross Jesus suffered more from compassion for His Mother than from his own torments.’

… And then speaking of Mary beside her dying Son, he says : ’ She stood there dying, without being able to die.’ "

UPDATE

Dear fellow members:

Father Allard suffered another sstback earlier this week.

It has kept him bedridden and on oxygen and consequently he was unable to concelebrate with the chaplain Tuesday and Thursday or preside privately Friday.

Yesterday (Saturday Oct 24) they got him out of bed in the afternoon and placed him in his chair but he was confined to his room in order to remain on oxygen [an oxygen machine - not an oxygen tank] ).

We decided to have him try presiding privately in his room yesterday (no candle though - due to the oxygen).

Success was limited. He has a lot of problems with his speech presently and the noise of the oxygen machine didn’t help make things any clearer. But by far the greatest hindrance was concerning his ability to consume the Sacred Species. His capacity for swallowing is already restricted, but is much more pronounced when he has these setbacks (ie severe coughing when attempting to swallow, particularly liquids).

This is really the first time since August 30, 2009 that he has had severe difficulty consuming the Sacred Species. Previously to August 30th, it was a more than periodic occurrence (so the prayers are helping greatly!) .

This swallowing difficulty (dysphagia - causes aspiration which can cause repetetive pneumonia emedicine.medscape.com/article/324096-overview ) ends up being the critical point around which the other points revolve when one must consider Fr. Allard’s ability to celebrate the Holy Sacrifice ( as presider).

As mentioned earlier, we’ve (Father Allard and I) continued to ask for almost 9 years, that Fr. Allard would be able to continue celebrating the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass until called home.

This morning (Sunday), if the staff feel he can do w/o the oxygen for an hour or so, Father Allard should be able to concelebrate with the chaplain in the auditorium.

Thanks for your prayers everyone :grouphug:

God bless you. 🙂
