  • Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on earth as it as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day, our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive
those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but
    deliver us from evil.
    Amen
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art Thou among women,and
blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us now, and
at the hour of our death.
Amen

Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, as is and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell,
lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of Your Mercy.
Amen

I add prayers as well for the intercession of St. Lydwine of Schiedham. patroness of the chronically ill and those afflicted with prolonged suffering, St. Camillus and Servant of God Father Nelson Baker…

UPDATE

On Thursday December 17 ('09) the official celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass resumed at the Institute. Father Allard successfully concelebrated that Mass.

Yesterday (Dec 18) , against all the odds , at a private celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, Father Allard managed to preside. It was uphill all the way, most of it prayed in a barely audible voice, but he succeeded. The two biggest bumps in the road yesterday were being able to read all the texts, and consumption of the Sacred Species.

A little confirmation that our prayers make a difference:

At the end of the Mass, while bringing him back to his floor/ward, referring to what had just been accomplished in his celebration of the Mass, I said to him ," That was pretty amazing - when I came to see you this morning, I thought I would be bringing you Holy Communion."

Father Allard replied in a weak voice, “I’m quite amazed myself.” I reminded him that this has always been our prayer - that he would continue to be able to celebrate the Holy Sacrifice until he is called Home to the Father.

Apparently, God is listening .

Thanks so much everyone for giving Him prayers to listen to.

UPDATE

Sunday, December 20/'09 Father Allard successfully concelebrated the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. He spoke his concelebrated portion of the Eucharistic Prayer very clearly that day.

He concelebrated the next scheduled Mass on Tuesday, December 22/'09 and a little earlier this evening ( December 24/'09) he successfully concelebrated the Christmas eve Mass at the Institute.

Our prayers appear to be an integral part of what is being accomplished because he is succeeding despite more than a few daunting difficulties. This evening while I was helping him vest for the Mass, I asked, “How many Christmases have we celebrated together ?.. 8 or 9 ?..” (one year he was in quarantine during Christmas). As I slid his paralyzed arm into the left sleeve of his alb I remarked, “Every Christmas we succeed, but it seems that every year your Cross becomes a little heavier.” Father Allard gave an acknowledging nod of the head and ,with a slight grin , replied , “Yeah”.

(*Note : I fell asleep at the switch here while writing the update *…:sleep::doh2: so the next part of this update which began late Christmas eve, was written early Christmas morning)

I also had the privilege of having Father Allard hear my confession yesterday before we went down to the chapel to pray a rosary together. Another thing I find amazing is how he can sometimes appear a little confused due to the illness, yet any time he has heard my confession he is always very focused and always has good counsel to give.

Today we celebrate Christmas - the entire cause and end of why Father Allard became a priest.

God’s peace and blessings to all who are praying the intentions of this thread and to those who are dear to you.

Merry Christmas !

*What child is this, who, laid to rest
On Mary’s lap, is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?

This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary! *

Merry Christmas Fr. Allard and to all praying for the good Father. I will continue praying for Fr. Allard to be able to con-celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass as well as to be able to continue hearing confessions, and to maintain his ability to consume the Body Blood Soul and Divinity of our Lord during Mass.

In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. Amen
