I know Fr. Corapi could be brutally frank every now and then.

but he proclaims the truth with enthusiasm and conviction.

Our society has become so soft to indulgence that it cannot

even bear to reconsider the truth.
He strikes my husband and I as being a bit …I don’t know the word.

One time he was talking about Mothers and saying only a very evil person could not love their mother.

Well, I was sitting in the room with a person who was very neglected and abused by their mother, and who didn’t love their mother.

To me, he comes off as a know it all, and he lacks a certain sensitivity. Thats just my two bits.

He gives me a good examination of conscience!

May God bless him with many more years…we need him. Groeschel is no different with how he says things…I love them all!😃

Good example of another reason I don’t like his style and many times his content. And it’s not because I want things sugar coated for heavens sake. Truth can be told without scare tactics.

Another reason I question him is that he kills bears for sport :nope::nope: honestly, I wonder about at priest who does that. :ehh:

Another man that can give you a good examination of conscience is Matthew Kelly 👍 I listened to him on a CD I picked up at our parish through LightHouse Catholic Media.

Also Fr. Donald Calloway is good so far, although I haven’t listen to the whole CD yet. 🙂

Sometimes I used to think that some of his stuff was maybe a little out their, especially his talks on drugs and spiritual warfare. My husband is and officer and I asked him if he had ever heard of dealers putting satanic blessings on drugs. My husband isn’t Catholic and isn’t one to get to moved by spiritual things. He said that one way that the investigators know if there is drug activity is through the evidence of satanic activity. I don’t second guess him at all anymore.

I think people get upset with him when he speaks about his own country. (I look at my own country when Father speaks of the US). Both countries have a death wish. We have killed more babies that do not even have a chance to live.

And then we blame Saddam and his ilke for being a monster in killing so many Iraquis. As he was…I do not condone his activities…but we do the very same thing with babies. We have our own holocaust going on here. Like Saddam, we burn the babies, we tear them to pieces, we crush their skulls, we burn them…just like Saddam did to so many…but not as many as the babies that are killed every year.😦

And who will be responsible before God for all of these deaths? the mothers? the doctors? the government for making it so easy?

I have no answers but as Fr corapi says, we do have a death wish…

I feel bad reading this, because even though I don’t kill birds anymore- I never thought it would be against the catholic faith if I took it up again. After all, I cleaned and cooked all the birds I shot.
Is this a problem for me becoming catholic now?

No! 🙂 And you will be a great catholic.

If Father hunts bears, I presume it is legal and who knows if that picture was not photosmarted.🤷

You are very encouraging Shoshana. I must try to find out what your name means, I never heard it before. Is it a saint’s name?
Or a saint to be??😉

Now, you are in for it! It is through prayer that the Lord gave me the of Susannah. ( I will give you a new name)…Now, Susannah in the bible was a beautiful virtuous young woman who was married. Look in the Book of Daniel. Two old men wanted to …ahem…fornicate with her. They saw her naked in her backyard as she was entering her tub to wash. The men got caught and accused her of having sex with them. She would rather die than do so because it would have been against her faith. Daniel was able to see through their lie and had them executed.

So Susannah, although in the secular and even the Jewish meaning is ‘beautiful like a garden’ or a ‘lily’…the spiritual term as my director said so many years ago, discerned the name to mean…one who is accused falsely. Spot on! But I would rather be inspired with her faith so that I too would/could die for my faith.

Amen!😃

Shoshana is only the Jewish way of saying Susannah.

I am going to read all of Daniel for my next project now! I read verses of it, but I missed this holy woman.:o

Thank you for helping me with my bible studies, and my love of the Catholic Church.

Fr. Corapi seems to be just fine to me. I don’t see the controversy here, unless he speaks falsely about punishment?

I think all parents that love their children will punish them if it is fitting, why not our Father in heaven? If we are his children should he not love us the same way? To help guide us?

I have heard many speakers…I am not so young. Trust what he says. He says it like it is. St Paul did the very same thing…

God must bring up prophetic people like Father Corapi just like he sent us Moses, Jeremiah, Isaiah, etc. They did not mince their words so many times and told it like it is…and we need that. These prophets also lost their lives on the whole. No different than Jesus.

Father Corapi needs bodyguards. When I went to buffalo he received 2 or 3 death threats. Literally. You can see a couple of his guards but not all of them.

And any priest that provokes this much hate means he is on the right path!😉 He is prophetic and his charism is apostolic preaching. Different preaching than your average priest!

I just absolutely love him!:extrahappy: God bless him and keep him in His most Sacred Heart!❤️

We are like sheep…and so fickle.

Killing animals for sport is against the Church’s teachings too.

From the Catechism:

Respect for the integrity of creation

2415 The seventh commandment enjoins respect for the integrity of creation. Animals, like plants and inanimate beings, are by nature destined for the common good of past, present, and future humanity. Use of the mineral, vegetable, and animal resources of the universe cannot be divorced from respect for moral imperatives. Man’s dominion over inanimate and other living beings granted by the Creator is not absolute; it is limited by concern for the quality of life of his neighbor, including generations to come; it requires a religious respect for the integrity of creation.195

2416 Animals are God’s creatures. He surrounds them with his providential care. By their mere existence they bless him and give him glory. Thus men owe them kindness. We should recall the gentleness with which saints like St. Francis of Assisi or St. Philip Neri treated animals.

2417 God entrusted animals to the stewardship of those whom he created in his own image. Hence it is legitimate to use animals for food and clothing. They may be domesticated to help man in his work and leisure. Medical and scientific experimentation on animals is a morally acceptable practice, if it remains within reasonable limits and contributes to caring for or saving human lives.

2418 It is contrary to human dignity to cause animals to suffer or die needlessly. It is likewise unworthy to spend money on them that should as a priority go to the relief of human misery. One can love animals; one should not direct to them the affection due only to persons.

Now if Fr. Corapi was hunting bears for food or clothing, that would be a diffrent story. But for sport, that is contrary to the teachings of the Church.

Sorry, but this doesn’t prove your point about Fr. Corapi. Bear hunting is regulated and IF Fr. were hunting he would be doing it legally. Legal bear hunting is used for bear population control for the good of humans. Now if Father were poaching you MAY have a point depending on the situation.

Character Assasination at its finest. While I am not in love with Fr. Corapi, it is better to analyze the fruits of his labor as opposed to his recreational activities as indicators of his state of grace.
