He has forgotten the obedience to his order and his priesthood. I am really hurt by this but I will pray for him and move on. In his speeches, more than once he remarked he was tempted to “quit” and also said that he might slip back into drugs, and mentioned fellow priests who had fallen away.Very sad indeed. What kind of example can he be to Catholics anyway? The Church is having such a hard time. This is umbelievable.
Cry for the Church and his Order. They are the ones that are taking the brunt of this. Remember pride goeth before the fall. I pray for him and that he gets over this mentalpause and get back to the priesthood. He was a inspiration for me with my vocation. It was him that gave me hope. I just pray if I make it I won’t spue the priesthood out of my mouth and spit it back in God’s face. What makes me want to cry more than anything else is what he did to the priesthood it is just depressing. My heart goes out to all involved. I have stated how i feel about John Corapi on other strings and still feel that way. But if he humbles himself and fall on his knees and beg for his priesthood I would give him respect. Scoob.I saw the video but kept the audio off… its too depressing for me to see him not only not wear his collar but all decked out in leather with a huge black beard.
I just want to cry!![]()
Good point on Blessed JPII who ordained Father CorapiAnd we need to ask Blessed Pope John Paul II for his intervention in this situation.
I got that as the bottom line too. He didn’t/doesn’t want to be a priest or live as a priest anymore. But the Black SheepDog in this video comes across like a man who wanted to return to secular life.
I know right
Calling attention to Free will is very relevant, Marie. In that it lets us, and reminds us not to have a spirit of vengeance, as vengeance is the Lord. Respecting one’s free will…Besides the Ultimate Sacrifice of Our Lord, the freedom to chose to follow or not to follow Him is the next biggest gift He gave to us. IMHO anyway.
Furthermore, if they follow him, by choice, they will be responsible for his defiance as well. Because they are enabling him, a spiritually sick ( as well as possibly mentally ill man, to boot.) They have a choice, but it’s up to Catholics who know this IS wrong to at least let them know it is wrong. Not be okay with it. SOLT’s decision making this week becomes clearer and clearer.People who follow him follow him by choice. They are responsible for their own choices as much as he is responsible for his.![]()
and other letters from Peter and John say the same thing. And Jesus mentions it other times.Jesus said, "Be careful that you are not deceived. Many will come using my name. They will say, ‘I am he!’ and ‘The time is near.’ Don’t follow them!
Yes, Julianne. Very very sad.Go back and watch the last 6 seconds of the video, after the audio is finished and before the picture of the black sheepdog takes over. That has got to be the saddest looking face I have seen in a long time. He doesn’t believe what he’s saying. Or he’s in deep pain. I am going to keep praying. So far, the YouTube comments are overwhelmingly people who are praying for him, but are not supporting this change.
I didn’t find myself getting that impression but did feel based on the totality of everything, not just this video, that perhaps he is not willing to give up a life of luxury.I got that as the bottom line too. He didn’t/doesn’t want to be a priest or live as a priest anymore.
I caught that as well but am not sure what to make of it. Sounds like there is much more behind the scenes that people know about. Frankly, I doubt most of it will ever come out.I caught his admission that the last 10 years for him have been a struggle and very difficult.
That’s what I thought as well when I first saw it. As someone else pointed out, it could also be a ploy to keep some of his followers from running away. I hate to say that, but it is hard to know what to believe anymore. One good thing to take from it is at least he said that people should focus on the church and on Christ and not on him.
I noticed that too and that was very good. Sadly, (and what amazes me) is that some people still comment like they have blinders on and are talking like he is leading people astray, or only commenting on his appearance, etc. I’m surprised the moderators haven’t caught on to the “BS-Dog” thing yet.One good thing to take from it is at least he said that people should focus on the church and on Christ and not on him.
I hope they do. I hope they realize that there are millions of priests in good standing with the Church - one or two of them right in their own neighborhood - it is not necessary to listen to Father Corapi. He isn’t that much better of a preacher than my parish priest, really. One good thing to take from it is at least he said that people should focus on the church and on Christ and not on him.
I agree. I’ve heard some pretty amazing priests in my diocese.I hope they do. I hope they realize that there are millions of priests in good standing with the Church - one or two of them right in their own neighborhood - it is not necessary to listen to Father Corapi. He isn’t that much better of a preacher than my parish priest, really.
Same here. Thanks be to God for all of his holy and dedicated priests.I hope they realize that there are millions of priests in good standing with the Church - one or two of them right in their own neighborhood - it is not necessary to listen to Father Corapi. He isn’t that much better of a preacher than my parish priest, really.
