Does anyone know what Fr. Corapi’s situation is? His black sheep dog website is shut down. I sure miss Fr. Corapi, I hope that what he’s accused of isn’t true.

I read an interesting note on Patrick Madrid’s website about this. He noticed the Corapi websites are down also. Patrick speculated Corapi is reconciling with his order. Could it be? I will pray for great outcome.

I hope so, I LOVE his talks. He was huge in bringing me back to the Church.

I never listened to him but if he is reconciling with his order, that would be the best outcome possible! I wouldn’t have expected that. Most the time, these situations seem to end with the individual publicly leaving the church.

I’m always worried by people with lots of personality, and who are successful because of it. Why? Becomes sometimes they don’t have character.

When I worked in prison as a catholic Chaplain I met a ton of guys with personality. Every prison wing is full of hem. They can be funny, charming, intelligent, challenging and seemingly great leaders.

But they are not in prison because of a personality defect, but a character defect.

Character is built by conscious choice through behaviors and discipline.

Personality can be nothing more than an ability to please the people in front of you for your own ends.

This is a good article.

Much has happened regarding Fr. Corapi that leads me to believe that a return to public ministry may not be the best thing.

Rather, I’d suggest praying for God’s will for him, since only He knows what’s best for any of us.

I pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy every day for Fr. Corapi. He was given so many gifts from the Lord. He was using those gifts so well. Satan uses his powers to try to thwart the Lord’s will. I hope that Satan gets forced back to hell by all those prayers for Fr. Corapi’s spiritual welfare. I’ve also invoked the aid of St. Padre Pio for Fr. Corapi. St. Pio has the inside track on how to fight the devil. Don’t stop praying.

I don’t think the gift of a captivating personality is either good or bad in and of itself. It depends on if the person who has it uses it in a positive or a negative way. I know many people who are great “front men” who have great character and have made very positive contributions to the world.

I just think that Fr. Corapi was an awesome public speaker thst “told it like it was.” I just related to him because I was a football player in high school, then I joined the army and lived an immoral life. He is the one who made me realize that I need to come back to my faith. There’s just no one else like him out right now.

Making a come back to public ministry would be the worst thing he could do. He’s an addict. He enjoys the attention. Them putting him out there in the first person just fuiled his addiction. For his spiritual and physical health they need to keep him out of public ministry.

I can kind of see where you’re coming from, but what about all the good he did? What about the things he said that other priests do not say? What about the people he helped bring back to the faith? What about his explanations of Catholicism to people who previously didn’t understand it? He also motivated people to follow their faith regardless of what people think or say about you, especially in this anti- Catholic world we live in. He promoted the Rosary to people that didn’t say it, he promoted confession, frequent Mass attendance… Fr. Corapi did a whole lot of good for the general Catholic population.

I agree:👍

But I would rather trust someone with character and no personality, than someone with personality and no character!

I think I understand where you’re coming from. A lot of the priests who have significant popularity are more in the (and I mean this in the most positive and respectful way) “egghead” category as opposed to the “regular joe” category. So most regular guys aren’t relating to them. Father Corapi was better able to connect to many people because, kind of like a Johnny Cash of priests, he put his own struggles out there… he talked to them from a place of personal experience and understanding. But like child_of_God mentioned, for all the good he did, Father Corapi may have been putting himself in a bad place. I don’t claim to know, but if it’s true that fame was too big of a burden for him, then it would be best for him to avoid it.

You’re right that his absence has left a void… to fill it, I think the best thing for us to do is promote other evangelists out there. Father Corapi can’t be the only one. Let’s find these people, recommend them to our friends and here on CAF. And pray for them, Fr. Corapi included!

I, too miss Fr Corapi.

He has so much to offer and he did and still does.

Prayers for him.

Thanks for asking about him. 👍

Has anyone written to the address that was on his website before it disappeared?

I didn’t but someone should write that address, if anyone can get it to me I’ll write a letter. Now the address is gone…that’s weird. I worry about him, I COULD see the allegations being true, but I wouldn’t be mad at him, we are all sinners and we shouldn’t expect him to be some supernatural being that is immune to temptation.

This is sooooo true I have seen this so much! Great observation. I am terribly shy myself.
