Anyone going to go see Fr John Corapi in Rochester Sept 15-16 and Scott Hahn? I am going! :bounce:

Hubby and I thought about going but with school and work we couldn’t do it. You’ll have to take notes for all of us that can’t make it! 🙂

From what I understand, this will be his last showing in Rochester…it is about 3 hours from here…

He was here last March…worth every minute. It was wonderful.

👍

Shoshana, could you give me the details of where Father Corapi and Scott Hahn are going to speaking in Rochester? I would love to give the information to my sister-in-law who lives in the area. She might not hear about it at her parish, and I think that my nieces would love to hear them.
Thanks, Marysann

He wouldn’t do tours outside the US now would he? 😦

I do not know, Lily. I know he was going to speak in Canada…BC area but they wouldn’t allow him in. If I understand right priests are not allowed to declare that they are preaching in another country. Sounds fishy to me…it probably just the paganistic Canada causing problems.

Here is his website…maybe you can e-mail. I have also heard that he won’t come unless there is a full audience. He doesn’;t charge for his appearance but pays for his trips by his selling of tapes, etc.

**Come Home Series with Fr John Corapi…**September 14,15

  • Why we leave the Catholic Church
  • There is confusion between freedom/license. Abuse freedom, lose freedom. We are a nation headed to slavery.****
  • Authentic human freedom gives one power to choose what is holy and good.****
  • They leave due pride, arrogance, self-centeredness…this all gives birth to evil.****
  • We do not do things as we ought to in the Church.****
  • They do not know what they have in the Catholic Church.****
  • There is no vocations crisis in the Church.****
  • God has not stopped calling people in.****
  • It is absolutely fatal to play fast and loose in the faith.****
  • Religious communities who flourish are faithful.****
  • Liberal dissent is the kiss of death.****
  • There are no vocations in the liberal mindset. When things are done right, there are vocations.****
  • No priest, no Eucharist! No Eucharist, no Church!
  • How much have you prayed for priests?
  • The Pope: his greatest gift is that he doesn’t care a fat’s ***.
  • Do things right…don’t mess with liturgy, doctrine, and morals.
  • Be faithful! Going to Mass is a precept and is a mortal sin not to unless sick. Why? Because we need it!
  • The devil loves the gray. He hates absolutes.
  • Being nice and doing charity doesn’t give you the sanctifying grace that comes from Mass and the sacraments.
People leave:
  • Philosophical and theological differences with the Church
  • Most people do not research the Faith.
  • They do not proceed intellectually only emotionally.
  • A lot of people get educated into imbecility.
  • Real education is a journey into the Truth.
  • Sending a person to an ultra liberal institution causes something to happen to the brain. It is demonic…plain and simple.
  • If you want your children to save their faith than send them to a public school. If you want them to lose their faith send them to a Catholic school. Bishop Sheen.
  • They leave because they don’t like the priest.
  • Why would you give any human being so much power over you to leave the Church?
  • We have the original version of the Bible.
  • People are not taught. Our Church is more biblical than the others.
  • One of the reasons we lose people is because we do not teach them…
  • A little humility goes a long way.
  • The Cross is the greatest evil and the greatest Gift. Creatures have killed their Creator.
  • Be all that you can be. Be truly Catholic and be the best that you could be.

Why stay?
· If you want vocations in your diocese, parish, family, etc…do things right. God will not send his beloved sons where they can lose their vocation and their faith.
· Be faithful, live/be unfaithful, die!
· New religions being concocted into the Catholic Church.
· People do not know what they have in the Catholic Church even among very good Catholics.
· We assume a lot of things, not always correct.
· We do not know our faith very well.
· No contradiction between Truth and Love.
· You must know ’Somebody’ to love, and vice-versa. Catholic Church is the fullness of Jesus Christ.
· The mess out there in the world is because of the mess of Catholics.
· The world is a stinking mess because I have failed miserably in holiness. One person at a time must be perfected.
· Mess in the world because Catholics sit on their big backside. We are in a precipice waiting to fall. Evil is flourishing.
· The intellect is made for Truth. Intellect cannot rest until it rests in the Truth.
· The truth is Somebody: Jesus Christ.
· God’s Revelation: Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and Magisterial Teaching.
· The fate of the world is in our hands.
· The real problem is in the will,
· The average Catholic could not tell you about Divine Revelation and Sacred Tradition
· Jesus never wrote a book. Sacred Scripture=Sacred Tradition.
· No sacred teaching without the Magisterium.
· Say yes when you mean yes, and no when no. All the rest is from the Evil One.
· Many of us have enough knowledge to become Saints. Saints have been canonized by what they do= Heroic virtue.
· Without grace, man does not attain his supernatural end.
· God gave us seven sacraments…because we need seven. Sanctifying sacramental grace=a share in divine life.
· We must memorize to know the Faith.
· We have to know our faith and live it.

· We have to know our faith and live it.
· Knowledge will illuminate your intellect to fight the fight against the forces of evil; today, more than ever.
· This is a fight to the death: our mind needs to be illuminated by the light of the Truth. Our will needs to be strengthened.
· Ask Mary’s intercession. Our Lady is a tremendous warrior. Jesus gave it to her.
· Be perfected as your Father is perfect.
· The longest journey starts with the first step. Learn your Faith!
· We are called to assault the very gates of hell.
· Fear is useless, what is needed is trust.

Why leave?
· Many reasons to leave the Church but no good ones.
· Sometimes there is an impediment in political correctness.
· You convince me because you are absolutely convinced.
· The devil believes in the existence of God.
· Disobedience is the cause of death.
· Humility is the most important thing according to St Theresa of Avila.
· No humility, no holiness; no holiness, no heaven!
· Pride-disobedience-death-hell.
· Humility is the acknowledgment of the Truth.
· God loves the speck.
· Our basic humanity is our greatest gift because we are created in His image and likeness of God.
· You are a prince/princess of Light.
· Terri Shiavo wasn’t sick-they killed her.
· Pro-choice is a slippery slope to hell.
· It’s good to be soft hearted but don’t be soft headed: learn the Catholic Catechism.
· Whatever your age, you can do better.
· You cannot outdo God in generosity.

Human Freedom

· Truth is the proper object of the intellect.
· Authentic freedom and Truth are indispensable.
· Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there freedom is.
· Doing what you want to do may cause you to cross that line from freedom to license.
· Good to know what porno means –porno: devil, graphy: pictures (greek).
· There are witches that fast for abortions.
· God will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah if nothing like 9-11 happened.
· If we don’t get rid of abortion, 9-11 will look like a picnic in the park
· Many near misses (in terrorism) that have been caught…you reap what you sow!
· 9-10 there was no praying in the schools 9-11 every school was praying.
· God chastises every son He loves.
· Leaving the Church is a moral problem.
· You can kill your conscience and end up a slave.
· If you live in God’s word, you will see the Truth.
· Man’s freedom is limited.
· There is a difference between sinning and living in sin.
· Demonic obsession is common.
· Freedom has a price out there and in here (heart).

Twenty question as to why people leave the Church and answers. (I only caught most of them…)

· Some of the churches seem not friendly, want better fellowship. We are not as welcoming as we should be. It is up to me to be more welcoming.

· God allows evil. Trauma can bring out the best or worst in human beings.

· Why did the Church change? Holy Mass changed because it had to. There seemed to be more reverence but not necessarily so. The abuse of Vatican 11 raised havoc with the Church. The documents of Vatican 11 have the seal of the Holy Spirit.

· Let the fresh air come into the Church but beware of the stench of the spirit of the world (secularism, modernism, etc).

· Confessing sins to God-do not understand the sacrament of Confession. Going to a priest is confessing to God. It is a blessing to go to confession. It is the only ordinary means to absolve sins.

· Women as ordained priests. Radical feminism is the dignity of women as equal to men but not the same. Only one priest: Jesus Christ. He is a man and those ordained into His priesthood are men. Anyone who persists that women should be priests is a heretic and excommunicates him/herself. ‘laete sententiae’.

· It is theologically possible for priests to get married. But the charism of celibacy is given as a gift to an individual for the life of the Church. The faithful exercise of celibacy begets life-it gives life to the Church.

· Artificial contraception: we cannot separate the unitive from the pro-creative. Because of the language of the body, contraception is a rejection of God’s life in the unitive action. We give ourselves but….

· Catholic politicians who allow abortion, pro-choice, etc excommunicate themselves. Does not know why the Church does not excommunicate them publicly. They pay taxes so nobody can tell them what to do.

· Saying the Rosary is the power of the Gospel and a prayer of power. Empowers one to do the work.

· Do not allow a human being (priest) power over you and the salvation of your soul for whatever reason.

· The Church is not boxed by time and space-it is transcendent.

· The Charismatic Renewal needs the guidance of the hierarchy of the Church. Laity must be obedient to the Magisterium.

· Can’t put the bible in a vacuum and be able to interpret it correctly: 1) read it as a totality 2) read it in the light of Sacred Tradition 3) read it in the light of the Doctrine of the Faith.

· The church will never reject you. God is waiting for you all these years.

Scott Hahn

· Emmaus: their hearts were burning with just the Word but it is in the breaking of the Bread, they saw Jesus. (Scott Hahn’s case)
· The preaching of the Church Fathers is different than modern day preachers.
· The Savior needed to save…Moses also.
· Joseph provided for his Hebrew family. St Joseph provided for the Holy Family. Both were in exile in Egypt.
· Moses and Jesus fasted in the desert for 40 days.
· The church Fathers connected the OT to the NT.
· When you read the OT and the NT, everything comes alive.
· Moses chose 12 tribes. Jesus chose 12 apostles, both on mounts.
· Moses chose 72 disciples as Jesus did also.
· Jesus the new Moses talks to Moses on Mount Tabor.
· Moses turned water into blood, Jesus turned water into wine into blood.
· Scott was drooling with a holy thirst for the Eucharist.
· The Lamb of God is mentioned 28 times in 22 chapters of the Revelation.
· Blessed are the people who read the Word and those who hear It.
· Apocalypse: heavenly liturgy.
· You hear more Scripture in the Catholic Church than any other church in the whole world.
· During the Mass, we share the same glory as the Saints and angels do in heaven.
· We do not need to die to get to heaven, we are there already at Mass.

‘Our Father’
· Most perfect of prayers…’Our Father’ taught by Jesus
· We can only pray like ‘that’ when we become His true disciples.
· In Greek: ‘as in heaven so on earth’.
· The prayer is perfect not only because of where it came from but because of its order…the sequence is right and in order.
· This prayer puts it all in perspective in reality of time.
· The power of God is given to us at Baptism.
· ‘Hallowed’…we’re asking God to use His Name to make us holy. Make me a Saint and nothing less.
· We are here to become Saints because we can use His Name.
· ‘Kingdom’…we are God’s princes/princesses.
· This world is not subject to our whim.
· He sets the laws, we don’t repeal them.
· Father+King…royal family and subjects.
· The prayer is most popular at Mass.
· Coming Kingdom in Revelations…the Eucharist.
· ‘Will’…we don’t want to change God’s mind and will but ours.
· Prayer changes things…use the prayer to change ourselves then others then society
· ‘Give us this day’…Sometimes, God in His justice, gives people over to what they want but, in reality, He gives us what we need
· Give us this day our ‘super substantial’ (greek), this gets fulfilled in the Mass in the Eucharist.
