Has anyone ever heard any of the tapes that are on catholicity.com performed by Fr. Larry Richards? He has a talk on The Truth, The Mass Explained and Confession. There are more, but these are 3 of the 4 that I have heard. This man is undeniably a God send. I have never heard a priest with such a passion for the Church and for what he does. He is the most inspiring priest that I have ever heard.

After listening to his tapes, I get so encouraged about being a Catholic. If you have a chance to give a donation to the website and get the tapes (which are free), I highly recommend it. I would love to hear what you think about him. He is really funny and very “down to earth,” while holding strong to the teachings of the Church. He has really opened my eyes to a lot. After listening to the Mass Explained, I have an entirely different experience every Sunday than I ever used to have.

I have found the website for the parish where he is a pastor (forgive me I do not have it in front of me) and have read some of his homilies online and I am filled with such joy reading them. His faith is so strong and he presents everything with humor and the right amount of “forcefulness” (not sure if that is a word).

I just thought I would see if anyone else has heard him and what you thought. I would love to pack up the wife and kids and make a road trip just to hear him say mass. Maybe he will have a retreat in my area sometime, or even a talk.
 
I LOVE his tape on the Mass! It is done so beautifully, enthusiastically and reverently!

I love the part where Fr. Larry talks about Jesus at the Last Supper, as they all gather together Jesus says to his apostles “I have greatly desired to have this Passover meal with you.”

Then Fr. Larry goes on to say that Jesus says this same thing to us at each and every Holy Sacrifice of the Mass! How cool! :yup:

If every parish had priests like him - everyone would be CATHOLIC!
 
I heard Fr. Larry speak last year at our annual Catholic Men’s Conference. Wonderful!

My pastor is trying to get Fr. Larry to come to our parish. My pastor and Fr. Larry are good friends. (Fr. Larry is from Erie, PA)

I found the website on Google but had never heard of this priest. Anyway, I bookmarked the page and went to it this morning. Awesome.

My teenage daughter didn’t come to Mass today so I printed one of his homilies off and told her to read it. It was about being in love with Jesus so Mass isn’t just a duty.

i was just browsing and had to put in my two cents on this thread. father larry richards is unbelievable. if you go on his website there are all his homilies and his tapes and cd’s. if you can ~ get his cd titled “what more could he do for you” it is a two cd set about the passion of Christ. i liked the passion by mel gibson but these cd’s far surpass anything that has ever been done. i hope that ewtn finds father larry richards soon and puts him on for all the world to see.

my husband and i are going to see him in allison park, pa in mid october at st ursula’s church. he does retreats. i am hoping to sometime get him to come to our church. maybe by a miracle.

Just thought you’d all like to know: I emailed Fr Larry to ask about homilies since June 2005 and he replied that they are working on it. Can’t hardly wait!
 
This is a bump!

I cry when I listen to his homilies.

The best thing is that, as of the end of November 2006, we have a new (young) PP who is so straight that he reminds me of Fr Larry & Fr Robert Altier.

He has already been removed from one Parish (to ours) because of letters of complaint to the bishop. Complaints because he is too faithful to the Magisterium to be PC!

I LOVE him too! He’s an amazing priest! I’ve listened to his talks on Confession and the Mass several times in the past few years.

He also came and said Mass at Franciscan a year ago and his homily was phenomenal! He has such a reverence for the Eucharist and a love for Catholicism and youth. He’s definitely a vibrant speaker who can capture and keep your attention :D.
 
I am bumping this so other people may follow the link and listen to his homilies.

They are just so inspiring.
 
Thanks for the recommendation, I just ordered the “Mass” and “Confession” from the Mary Foundation.
