Yesterday (Saturday) the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, promulgated a decree of Heroic Virtue for Fr. Michael J. McGivney. Among other things he was the founder of the Knights of Columbus fraternal order.

This is one of the early steps in the process which might lead to a formal Beatification or Canonization.
