France Saying Non to EU?

Mon Dieu! Why? Does that Sunday hold some special significance for the French?

Pentecost weekend is a bank holiday weekend in some European countries. Nothing to do with the day of Pentecost but falls at the same time some years.
 
Let us pray for a resounding NON. It will then spare the rest of us having to vote for such nonsense.

Netherlands are due to vote next week, but if France say NON then it all stops hopefully.
 
Actually, Chirac may be planning an end-around by going through parlament if there is a no vote. That is according to the following article:

It should be interesting, I have said before that the EU would not survive. Too many nationalistic tendacies in Europe for it to work.

Since the document, in addition to its other shortcomings, makes no mention of the Christian heritage of Europe, it deserves to be defeated. Now the Dutch get a chance to say “No”. Wonder how the nations who have already said “Yes” feel?

Can you explain what your objections to it were? It seems as if France’s objectiosn were more a protest to the unemployment in France and their unhappiness with what is happening to them.

Well Spain loses many power with this constitution, we don´t have veto for stopping the bad decisions of France and Germany, for this reason Aznar, didn´t want this constitution, the silly Zapatero accepts everything and this is the problem. There are another reasons, the marriage isn´t the union between man and woman for the EU Const. The constitution is agreed with the abortion and other things, there aren´t a recognition of the christianism in the EU Const.
For all these things NO.
