i just had a dream about them last night. i was inside a Church and i am inside the Church of these Franciscans. I don’t know why I know that the place belongs to the friars, and i saw no friars. i went up the altar and i saw the sacristy… i sensed a friar coming and so i ran down

Well, it is just a dream… but who knows, maybe you would be interested in joining the Franciscan family. I am a Secular Franciscan, and must tell you, I am so happy to be one!

I’ve met some of them through our ā€œTheology on Tapā€ series in our Ct area. There is an authenticity about them you don’t see often. I’ve me other relgious that might have been very holy, but there was a change when they weren’t preaching, they seemed different. Maybe it was just ā€œquirksā€ but the Franciscans seem so genuine and ā€œon fireā€ as posted and humble.
I admit, their lifestyle is so austre in some ways, at my ā€˜middle-age’ years, make me realize how attached we become to things…living as poorly as they do and to get so many vocations over the years, you know there has to be a lot more. They have no TV, individual phones, internet (no internet!) sleep on the floor, etc.I forgot who puts their web site together, it’s not at their firiaries, but I’m grateful for it.
Then nuns are growing too…not to leave them out.

God Bless these men!

They truly shine a light in the darkness and reveal Jesus to us.

They show us what we could be if we weren’t so damn weak!

Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, Ora Pro Nobis Peccatoribus!

Mark

Our nephew is Father Christopher Paul. He and these Brothers have been around our family for over ten years now, and they are truly a blessing.

John.
