God bless these kind hearted women and their witness of love. However, I do wonder if perhaps a more organized distribution wouldn’t be safer for everyone and perhaps more productive.
Sunland, New Mexico is adjacent to El Paso, Texas. And Puerto de Anapra is adjacent to Ciudad Juarez. So the border crossing is only a few miles distant, and donations could be transferred by vehicle to the local churches in Puerto de Anapra. This might be safer for everyone.
I guess what would be lost is the symbolic reaching across of the border fence. But how important is symbolism in what the sisters are doing? Is the symbolic action as important as the actual aid provided?
