Free Speach? Not at NDU. Innocent woman arrested at NDU Commencement

I just received the following e-mail:

Dear Friends,

I just spoke by phone with a friend, Sonny Torres, who went to Notre Dame this weekend with his wife Karen to protest the university giving Obama an honorary degree and a platform for promoting his policies which include murdering unborn children. Neither of my friends had any intention of getting arrested, but the Lord apparently had other plans.

After six hours of joining in the protests off campus, Karen and Sonny left to begin their long ride back to Virginia. But they got turned around and pulled into the parking lot of a credit union bordering the university campus to get their bearings. As they did, they noticed a group of police cars gathering and officers putting up barricades which appeared to mark the route of the Obama motorcade. Disgusting! Peaceful protesters should not have been arrested.
 
well im sure the adminastration at notre dame has a lot of pull with local law enforcement. and since nd is now firmly in the back pocket of obama just like cnn and msnbc should we expect anything different than actions like these?

The local economy would be dead if it weren’t for Notre Dame. It’s only because of the university that South Bend isn’t like Elkhart, its neighbor to the east. So yes, I think there is quite a loving relationship there between city government and ND administration. It’s in their best interest to keep Fr. Jenkins et al. happy.

This doesn’t surprise me in the least. Just another example of the fine work of SBPD. This city has a murder rate rivaling that of Gary and peaceful protesters are arrested…yes, they clearly have their priorities straight!
 
At least South Bend has a vocal bishop to help guide them. More reasons to pray!
 
I hate to be a nitpicker, but I keep seeing/hearing people refer to it as NDU, and Notre Dame University.

NDU is National Defense University, and is funded by the Dept. of Defense.

Notre Dame is the University of Notre Dame, and is abbreviated as UND, as is the University of North Dakota.
