. Freemasonry has in the past possessed some temporal power, but wields little influence today…
While that may be true in California, I can assure you that Freemasonry holds PLENTY of temporal power in Alabama and surrounding states.

It is no more a religion than the local cricket or bowles club. They do not ‘teach religion’, but they DO sing Christian hymns and the National Anthem. They also do an absolutely excellent 3-course dinner [at the end of every meeting] which ALWAYS starts with ‘grace’ and ends with thanking God for what they have received.

The ‘Ritual’ is no more ritualistic than any other organisational meeting. It is simply a ‘lads’ club for the men and a ‘ladies’ club for the women. There are ‘ladies nights’ no different to 'dining in nights in a military establishment.

I used to be in the Knights of St Columba. After a very busy day, the last thing I wanted was to go to meetings where folk abused and shouted at each other. I was not happy at how they intimidated parishioners [particularly targetting the poorer and more vulnerable ones] to be cajoled into buying raffle tickets etc.

My brother is a freemason. I often accompany him to various functions. I have read the ‘rites of the ritual’. It is actually very similar to that which we do in the Ancient Order of Druids, which is NOT freemasonry. The men are ALWAYS VERY POLITE, COURTIOUS and CIVIL to each other and guests. I have ALWAYS been made to feel very welcome.

The KSC has a long way to go before it is worthy to be on an equal footing with Freemasonry
If you believe this, then you are sadly mistaken. 😦 You have no idea what goes on then. There are different levels of Freemasonry. Do you have any idea what goes on in the 33rd degree of freemasonry? Do you have any idea who these people “worship?” I can tell you one thing, they don’t worship God as we know God as Father, Son & Holy Spirit. I think even some former masons who did not advance to such high degrees might be “in the dark” as to what happens in “higher” levels or degrees of freemasonry.

If you or your brother are a Christian, then I advice you to get out now. May God’s Grace pour over your soul so that you can see this for what it is.

The essential qualification for membership into ‘The Craft’ is a belief in a ‘supreme being’. The letter ‘G’ in their emblem stands for GAU which means the Great Architect of the Universe (the supreme being, per se) as it symbolizes both god and geometry. Which god? That would depend on the faith/religion of each member.

This manner of reasoning gives injustice to the Catholic Religion where it is just regarded as merely equal to other religions; which Catholicism is not as it the only one true religion.

That’s why Freemasonry is not and will never be accepted by the Church.

what does it mean to say “the only one true religion?”
JMJ + OBT

It means that the all of the truths proclaimed by our religion – the Catholic Faith – were/are revealed by God Himself, and that He has fully revealed Himself in those truths, and no other truths concerning Him will be publicly revealed until the close of history and the consummation of the world.

It means that other religions may profess some of the truths about God and man which can be arrived at by use of reason alone; and still others, like Judaism and Protestantism, may profess some of the truths which God has revealed to men. But only the Catholic religion possesses the fullness of the truth revealed by God and knowable by human reason, and only in the Catholic Church is there available the fullness of the means of eternal salvation in Jesus Christ, as dispensed through the Sacraments instituted by Christ, that men might share in the divine eternal life of God in Three Persons, in this age and in preparation for and anticipation of the age to come.

In the Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
