Our Father…

3 Hail Mary…

Glory be…

Grant healing to our dear Friar David, dear Lord, and guide the hands of those who are caring for him. May Our Mother Mary keep him unto the mantel of her special protection. Amen.

Prayer to Saint Peregrine

O great St. Peregrine, you have been called “The Mighty,” “The Wonder-Worker,” because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who have had recourse to you.

For so many years you bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fibre of our being, and who had recourse to the source of all grace when the power of man could do no more. You were favoured with the vision of Jesus coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction. Ask of God and Our Lady, the cure of the sick whom we entrust to you.

(Friar David)

Aided in this way by your powerful intercession, we shall sing to God, now and for all eternity, a song of gratitude for His great goodness and mercy.

Amen.

Still praying, but I lifted you in a special way at mass tonight. Hoping to hear good news from you soon, that you are on the road to full recovery. God bless you, David.

Offered a prayer for you, Friar David. May God heal you speedily.

I called Fra… David at the priory and left a message. Tonight, I found an email from him. I’m so excited. He doesn’t say much, but at least I know that he is still with us. I was getting scared, because I couldn’t track him down, but he left me a number where I can reach him.

It’s past the Grand Silence or I would call him tonight. I’ll have to wait until Monday to do so. I just have to work around our schedule and theirs. They have contemplative prayer during the day and we have it in the evening. I guess that’s why we’ve always done everything with the Dominicans and little with the Carmelites. We can’t get on the same schedule. LOL

I’m just so happy to hear from him that I wanted to let everyone know. I’m going to put it before the House Chapter to see if I can get permission to visit him at the end of March. I’m going to VA to my daughter’s wedding, on Mercy Sunday. But I’m going up a week ahead of time. I’ll be in VA for Easter. Maybe the chapter will give me permission to visit the Carmelite priory. It’s only an hour north of where I’ll be. I can get there by bus and train or hitch a ride from a relative. I wouldn’t stay, of course, so as not to inconvenience the Carmelite Friars or even eat. I just want to see Dave.

I’m so happy to hear from my bud. :dancing:

That’s it for now folks.

Fraternally,

Br. JR, FFV 🙂

Holy St. Raphael attend his physician and bless his medications by the will of the Lord God of Hosts. Grant your servant peace and healing that he may rejoice in the mercies of God and continue in his witness of Our Blessed Lord Jesus Christ.

Friar David: I just now saw this thread and want you to know that I am praying for your recovery. Bless you.

I just thought about him a little while ago and came here to look for this thread to see if there had been an update.

I will continue to keep Friar David in my prayers.

Dear Mother Mary, please hold and comfort your son, Friar David, and intercede for his healing from the painful disease. He is loved by so many as proof of his love for Jesus. I humbly ask for him in my prayers. Thank you Dear Mother.
