Thanks, I grew up with a family member that practiced Santeria, and I saw some very scary supernatural things happen as a result of occult rituals. That is why I asked for advice here. I know New Age is a popular hipster aesthetic, but I’m not sure if the potion is just essential oil with a silly label on it, or if someone actually cast a spell on it.

gold!
😎

but yes, do not drink strange fluids. 🤢.

What do people define as a potion? I recently heated some apple juice and spices in a saucepan (don’t have a cauldron) to cure my stuffy nose.

True. Sadly, some people believe there are and that they do things in real life.

Trust me when I say these New Agey types with their essential oil “clearing” potions would run like heck screaming away if they ever had to deal with anything like Santeria.

I don’t think clearing one’s stuffy nose is anything spiritual in nature. Therefore, what you made would fall under the category of “folk remedy”, not “potion”.

Similar to my mother’s concepts of blackstrap molasses and vinegar. I have actually consumed small amounts of vinegar for a skin condition and yes it helped big time. Not a potion.

My advice is to thank your friend but ditch
the potion.

Yes…

One of our family members has been into occult practices, and told me that she felt that she had invited a negative entity into her home because of it.

One of my Pastors and I had a conversation before about this type of thing where practicing anything from the occult can open up a doorway like that.

Pretty much. Depending on what kind of molasses, they might be made of different things, but it’s the same basic idea of syrup made from refining sugar or something with sugar in it.
