Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on earth as it as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day, our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive
those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from evil.
Amen

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee.
Blessed art Thou among women,and
blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us now, and
at the hour of our death.
Amen

Glory be to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, as is and ever shall be, world without end.

Charlotte, you are a good friend to her, even if she doesn’t talk to you, at least you have peace knowing you did the right thing. God bless!

I agree, and I think that even if she did it (but I really hope she didn’t :(), maybe in several years she’d remember all those links, poems, etc and that would help her to hopefully ask God for forgiveness ? we don’t know how God works… I really hope your friend didn’t go through with the abortion… praying for her. I think you did the right thing in talking to her. God bless.

Exactly, magic_stick, exactly.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come;
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

HEY everyone!!!

First, I’d like to apologize…I had a little falling out I guess you could say with her family…they totally got mad at me because I was the only one going against the grain and offering another side to her situation…and you know, I just did it in conversation, not like I was trying to FORCE my ideals on her or anything, just asked if she KNEW her other options…if she KNEW exactly what she was doing if she had the procedure…I sent her the links the the websites you guys gave me, and, as an adult SHE went there and I guess it really upset her…But I felt she had to know…its so easy to go and do something if you think its easy like having a fingernail removed but if you REALLY know…I just knew the decision would be harder for her to make…well her family got pissed and we werent talking for awhile, we are now…but…its just…idk I feel sad like they all look down on me because of my views…like I posted last time…they said I was ‘UNAMERICAN’ cuz you know, soldiers fight for women over here to be able to make those kinda choices…

As for her…she wont talk to me. She lives a state away, and I call, email…she doesnt answer…I dont know if its A. shes ashamed because she did it and doesnt know how to tell me…or B. She didnt, and…maybe wants to surprise me??? And I dont want to flat out ask her sisters because its already caused so many problems my being involved…

You know its funny because I’ve been apart of their family since I was 12…we all grew up together, and I’m ALWAYS included…cept when its gonna cause em’ shame I guess… how sad…

As for this thread, I’ve had a lot of personal things going on, and honestly- Ive recieved HATE MAIL over me not coming on and posting here, so…I’m a little sour and in my own life, as a single mother/strong woman I dont answer to no one BUT God…so to those who have been praying and are genuinely concerned, my apologies, but to those who took the time out of their day to write me and tell me what a peice of **** I am (lol) well you know what you can kiss.
Wow Charlotte, you really paid a dear price for doing the right thing! I’m so sorry it had to come to that. You can go on knowing that you did what you could to stop her. YOU don’t have to live with the guilt. I know that type of guilt. I had a friend long ago that had an abortion. I knew about it ahead of time (through the grapevine) and I intended to call her and try to do something to stop her. I put it off and put if off because I was a coward. When I finally picked up the phone and called her, it was too late. She had the abortion that morning.

You were much braver than I was and I know that God will reward you for your courage in Heaven. You stood up for what’s right and stood up for that little life that God created. :console:

I will pray for your friend and her family.

I to am sorry you recieved hate mail from people, especially on this forum. I think with a topic like this emotions run high and people begin to feel hostile about the whole issue for a variety of reasons. You being the only link they had toward the situation, they vented their emotion on you.

Bless you for trying though. Your friend is the one who made the decision, like another poster said, at least give yourself the peace of knowing you tried.

Hi everyone who participated or is now reading this thread. I have an update.

Shortly after she had the abortion, her cousin passed away and I saw her at the Funeral. She wouldn’t speak to me, I spoke to her. I told her that I was sorry that she misunderstood my concern - and that I really do love her dearly and offered her a hug to console her. She declined, I told her I understood.

We still aren’t speaking, and while I have come to terms with the fact that it was her decision to do this and not my fault, I still have placed part of the blame with myself. Taking a step back and looking at the entire friendship - I failed her a long time ago. We were best friends in high school when her Mother sent her to live with her Father in another state (who she did not know) because she couldn’t get along with her Sisters. That is where I dropped the ball. I should have kept in touch. She needed me and I let her down. I can not expect her now to respect or understand my opinions, to her it must have seemed like I was coming out of left field.

Anyways, when God has a plan - it is so. Not too long after the abortion, she became pregnant again and I am proud to say that this past Monday, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, whom she named ‘Trinity’.

I cried because she sent me pictures on my phone, but I wish I could have been there. I should have been there from the beginning. A lesson learned…

Again, thank you to everyone who supported and prayed with me.

Don’t blame yourself, you did your best to stop her from making the biggest mistake of her life, but at the end of the day, it was her choice to make. I hope she realizes one day what she did and I hope Trinity grows up to be the joy of her life.

Do not be so hard on yourself. While it may be that you could improve yourself as a friend, it does not follow that any of her friends or family, no matter how close, had control over this decision she made. The decision was hers, and it is a decision that cannot be made over again. As the prayer goes, we need to ask for the serenity to accept those things we cannot change, taking courage instead for the things that are still ours to do.

I think the sending of the pictures is a gesture of reconciliation with you. When you get the opportunity, please let your friend know about Rachel’s Vineyard retreats: www.rachelsvineyard.org/. If nothing else, it will let her know that you think God wants to extend her forgiveness.
