I know this man, we sang at his ordination.

The man is amazing, and his voice. The beauty of his voice gives chills.
We were at a parish for Christmas eve Liturgy. It was the only Liturgy offered at this small country parish, and the place was packed with little kids, all under the age of 6. (That’s a miracle in itself, the children under 6 outnumbered the adults!) When it was time to go up for Communion, the place was in such a ruckus! Hollering, crying, squealing, you could not hear a thing going on. (It was quite late and the little ones were tired and cranky) Fr. Taras started to pray, very quietly, singing. I couldn’t tell what, actually I couldn’t even hear him, but the prayers of the Liturgy were done and it was time to go up. Within a minute, the place went silent. Still. I could hear him quietly singing a prayer, barely a whisper, and the place calmed, like Jesus out in the boat during the storm. Chills. Wow. To walk up to receive Our Lord on the Feast of the Nativity, in this holy stillness. Wow. He is a force in this tired world. Thank you Lord, and please God, raise up more holy men as this.

He told his amazing story on “The Journey Home” several years ago. It’s one of our favorite shows.
