Not about The Catholic Church so it is not “news” for those that want to make Catholic Christians look bad. I added some of the article to get the thread going.

Perhaps, in the long run, the media will have done the CC a favor by purging predators from among us. We are now a stronger, healthier organization. The same can not be said the NYC public schools.
 
Yes, there is a massive bias in the reporting by the MSM and it is tied to the agenda of removing religion by the political left.

I know some around here do not like World Net Daily, but they regulary report on the cases of teachers (albeit female teachers only) abusing students.
 
Our public school district is very small. Very union (we are in PA). Well when a teacher that had more then one charge against him/her (won’t identify because it is not the purpose of this post) and the district could not fire him/her they put a window into the wall of his/her room to monitor the teachers actions in the classroom. It seems that cameras were against the union rules but the window was not LOL.

Now to me this is a sad situation that the union could stop the district from observing the behavior of the teacher in the class. The teachers have panic buttons on ther desks. And now they can place cameras into the classroom as long as the teacher is not the one being observed. The teachers desk can only be on the monitor as long as the teacher is not in the picture or the panic button is pressed. Sad. And yes I go to school board meetings even though our kids are home-schooled.

When I first saw the title of this thread, I thought it was about UN peacekeepers in Africa. :eek:

They do so because of the double standard, not that I defend WND; they’re barely readable.
 
I did not see anything in the article indicating any coverup by city officials. I did not see anything in the article where city officials moved known sexual predators from one unsuspecting class room to the next as Catholic Bishops did.

The abomination of the Catholic Clergy abuse was that the Bidhops knew children were being molested, spent hush money to hide it and then moved sexual predator preists to other parishes where more children were harmed.

People understand that child molesters exist. People understand that child molesters exist in all groups and organizations. What peope are out raged over is that the Bishops knew their preists were molesting children and allowed it to happen.

If anyone can expose any leadership group who did such a horrible thing as Catholic Bishops did, in moving known child molesters from one group of unsuspecting victims to the next, please let the authorities and the news know about it.

I do not see other groups doing the horrible things that so many Bishops did.

That might be the case. But, the fact is that this situation is not just within the Catholic church. The widespread problem is what this thread is all about.

The current disclosures of sins of unchastity committed by priests against children constitute one of the worst scandals in the entire history of the Catholic Church. I don’t understand how any Catholic can deny or minimize this fact. Does God want us to turn a blind eye to reality?

Christ tells us how to react to this and other scandals in his Church: Mt 18:6-7. These verses do not say that we should react by saying: “But scandals exist outside the Church, too!”

Keep and spread the Faith.

I don’t see anyone denying or minimizing the scandals of priests abusing children. It is a very serious matter and one that we Catholics should demand our bishops take care of. You said it yourself, “Does God want us to turn a blind eye to reality?” The reality is that child abuse is not limited to the Catholic Church. Do you want us to ignore child abuse in the public schools just because we had our own scandal? That would be an even bigger scandal in my opinion.

The posters I read, including myself, were just wondring why the secular media gives a pass to child abusers in the public school system. That’s all.
 
Correct. It is the worst scandal ever 😦 . But we must also acknowledge that this is something that is pervasive in our modern society or we will fail to protect our children in the future.

With the seminaries going back to more traditional values those that once found sanctuary there will look elsewhere for the innocent victims. Gays and pedophiles will always find a way to get to our children if we are not ever vigilant.

There is no excuse for this behavior. Yet there are those that are trying to change the laws so their behavior can be deemed normal.:mad:

Pedophiles, yes, but every homosexual who I’ve known personally was “looking for love” with other homosexuals. Pedophiles are mostly heterosexual deviates. After all, what sort of a man craves a 10 year old girl?

Look in the news. The 2 MEN that took in a supposed 12yo MALE and were disgusted and angry when the supposed 12yo turned out to be 20+ years old. They said they were deceived. They wern’t ashamed of their behaviour :mad: but were angry that the “boy” was a man. :confused:
