Folks, just reinterating. Someone from this forum went over there and got a bunch of spyware…not only are they fruity there, there web site had spyware on it. Use caution!

After reading the website, I decided that such websites are best ignored. Why provoke them.

I came across this little gem of a quote, which I find amusing:)

“No more of this…what Scott Hahn said etc. Catholics want to post their teachings and dogmas, we want official catholic sources. No more of this nonsense of Mary is the New Eve and she will marry her son ****.”

Wow, maybe someone will go to hell for that comment about Mary… I don’t think Jesus would like people speaking about his mother in such a manner.

Some of these anti-Catholic websites make me feel physcially ill. The hatred and venom they spew “in the name of love” make them impossible to read.

Amen! I got some Adware virii, even though I have Norton from visiting that site months ago. Maybe before visiting the site one should make sure their firewalls, spybots, ect are in force. 😃

wow! Does Jesus told the apostles or in the revelation that only King James Version is to be used by all of the people of GOD?

Protestants really saying tht they adhere to sola scriptura but Sola KJV? That is something new. :bigyikes:

I often wonder about these people: if they say that the KJV is the “perfect” and only Bible to adhere to, then what about those who before the KJV had no access to it? I find their arguments quite amusing.
They have a list. The person who I asked told me the one before the KJV 1611 was the Luthor Bible then there are others going back in time until you get to the origional manuscripts.

Does their Bible have the deuterocanonicals in it?

No?

Then it’s not a 1611 KJV; it’s most likely a 4th revision of ?1769? (haven’t had a chance to look up the year).

1611-KJV-onlyests don’t have a clue about that.

DaveBj
That is a very gross generality. I know a lot of 1611 ists who know about that. Perhaps you are just trying to insult the ones at the forum. If that is the case you’ve sunk to thier level.

Lets pray for our brothers (protestants) that separated from the Church that was established by Christ. They are leading to the wrong path because of their forefathers that separated to our church because of self interest.

They are being offered to praise GOD in a relax way.
For many will enter in a wide gate. In an easy way.

KJV-onlyists become uncomfortable when you point out that the original King James Bible had the deuterocanonicals ( they called them Apocraphya ).

Some insist that the deuterocanonicals were “found in a trash heap outside of St. Catherine’s monastery”. Hmm, but they were also in the original KJV. Somehow these two contradictory beliefs can co-exist in the Onlyist’s mind.

All say that Catholics added these books to the Bible. If you point out that these books existed as part of the Bible prior to the Reformation, the name calling and insults start.

Really, I didn’t have any opinion either negative or positive about the Baptist denomination until I started to post on their websites. Now I realize how ill-informed and prejudiced many of these people are. Surely they don’t represent the majority of Baptists. But they give the majority a bad name.

That may well be the largest collection of morons I’ve ever seen on one forum.

Well, maybe the highest concentration, but surely not the highest number. There are morons on all forums, but I didn’t get the impression over at the KJVO site that their total number was more than a handful. Did it look like many to you?

You’re right. I meant to say “highest concentration.” And no, from what I could tell, there were about five regular posters, all of whom were Admins or Moderators. All of whom were also morons.

Well, give 'em credit for consistency.

I’d like to think, “Well, when nobody will play with them any more, maybe they’ll learn that they have to play nice.” But then sobriety returns and I realize that their movement has been spawing that kind of behavioral pathology for forty years and it is, from all appearances, incurable.

I guess that some people are just cannibals by nature.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to let you know that I was banned from the KJV only site. I think the reason that they banned me was because I gave several long posts filled with quotes from early Church Fathers explicitly describing the Real Presence from the Real Presence site here:

therealpresence.org/eucharst/father/a5.html#augustine

I believe it was bebop who had posted an edited version of St. Justin Martyr to illustrate the “symbolism” of the Eucharist many hours before I read his/her post. He/She also stated that there was hardly any mention of the Eucharist for the first 300 years. Several of the moderators bantered back and forth about how no Catholics had come back to answer her post and they wondered where we were all hiding. I gave them all of the quotes from the first 300 years on the Real Presence. I don’t blame them for banning me! It’s pretty hard to explain away quotes like this:

“They abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer, because they do not admit that the Eucharist is the flesh of our Savior Jesus Christ, the flesh which suffered for our sins and which the Father, in His graciousness, raised from the dead” - St. Ignatius of Antioch - “Letter to the Smyrnaeans”, paragraph 6. circa 80-110 A.D.

On another thread which was called, I think, “true Church”, Midnightbirdgirl gave me a link entitled “Rome vs. the Bible Series 2” about the Eucharist. I can’t believe anyone can’t see the holes in that deceptive piece of work! I was hoping to get a better understanding of why someone would leave the Church. Reading through the lines with those particular site members, you can see that the real rejection of the Church is not doctrinal. All of the Catholics have been in some way hurt by the Church and they’ve turned their bitterness and disappointment into a destructive campaign against it. I think one of them said, and I paraphrase, “Don’t come here telling us all about that cult of horrors! We’ve all had our nightmare experiences with that church!” Please remember them in your prayers.

There have been many posts on this thread that I though were interesting. I had no idea that people who call themselves Christain would resort to name calling names and act so uncharitable just because they did not like the actions of another. I feel bad for anyone who feels they have on other recource.
God Bless

I don’t think there is anything unchristian about coming away with the opinion that those bigoted, ignorant people are moronic. If you read those hateful posts and come away with a different opinion, so be it. I don’t call them morons for believing what they believe, but rather for the very ignorant, very moronic things they say about what I believe.

We all fall short of grace sometimes. My particular failing is that I find it hard to turn the other cheek when someone violently offends our Holy Catholic Church.

I think the KJV - onlies – I was raised as one – didn’t do a good job as one – too dyslexic to quote scripture well. Thank God, the Whore of Babylon lets me slide by with “what about the verse that says xyz”

Have you seen this lovely site? It is defintiely not the better part of decorum, and a bit of bashing – but I love it.

catholicoutlook.com/rpv.php

The revised Fundamentalist Version of the Holy Bible – it is just like I remember it – no mention of Mary or the Magnificat, and such.

Eden, midnightgirl claims to have studied Catholic theology for years. Why do I have a hard time believing that?

I’ve asked them how on earth they think they are winning souls for Christ with their hateful attitude.

They’re kind of the Aryan Nation of fundamentalists.

I kind of miss the name-callers on baptist.org though!

1Pe 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
1Pe 3:16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
1Pe 3:17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
