It’s just some people are disturbed about the sex that’s all over the series, and eventually generalize and dismiss it as purely a more “public” form of pornography. To be honest that annoys me and I worry that some people wouldn’t find the essence of the series which is a recreation of history and real-world politics and intrigue set in a medieval fantasy world. It has many female characters that are not treated as sexual objects but rather as people of dignity and strength - which is completely the exact opposite of what pornography really is, mind you. This is a popular media forum, not a moral theology forum.
I was attempting to establish a friendly dialogue of who might have seen the show or read the books. Obviously some of you haven’t read the books, nor seen the show.
If you feel too uncomfortable/judgmental about such a topic as this or a show, I might suggest taking your views to some other thread.
Ok, we’ve been deviating from the topic too much now, just like what has happened in the other thread about the show.
I’m actually excited about the Martells. They’re a very interesting house since I haven’t read the books. I have mixed feelings with the Lannisters. They killed… people… but Tyrion seems to be the moral bastion and knowing Sansa’s worth and dignity as a human being.
My favorite character in the series is Catelyn Stark because she’s boring. Now don’t get me wrong. Sometimes in a series set in a world full of amoral chaos the most boring character is the best in my opinion. She, I think, is a moral bastion in the series, and it breaks my heart that… something bad happened to her.
Now please, NO SPOILERS! I haven’t started watching season 4 yet…
