the gardasil side effects are horrific!!
“Merck and the FDA have not been completely honest with the people about the pre-licensure clinical trials,” said NVIC president Barbara Loe Fisher. “Merck’s pre and post-licensure marketing strategy has positioned mass use of this vaccine by pre-teens as a morality play in order to avoid talking about the flawed science they used to get it licensed. This is not just about teenagers having sex, it is also about whether Gardasil has been proven safe and effective for little girls.”
According to the Merck product manufacturer insert, there was 1 case of juvenile arthritis, 2 cases of rheumatoid arthritis, 5 cases of arthritis, and 1 case of reactive arthritis out of 11,813 Gardasil recipients plus 1 case of lupus and 2 cases of arthritis out of 9,701 participants primarily receiving an aluminum containing placebo. Clinical trial investigators dismissed most of the 102 Gardasil and placebo associated serious adverse events, including 17 deaths, that occurred in the clinical trials as unrelated.
“There is too little long term safety and efficacy data, especially in young girls, and too little labeling information on contraindications for the CDC to recommend Gardasil for universal use, which is a signal for states to mandate it,” said Fisher. “Nobody at Merck, the CDC or FDA know if the injection of Gardasil into all pre-teen girls - especially simultaneously with hepatitis B vaccine - will make some of them more likely to develop arthritis or other inflammatory autoimmune and brain disorders as teenagers and adults. With cervical cancer causing about one percent of all cancer deaths in American women due to routine pap screening, it was inappropriate for the FDA to fast track Gardasil. It is way too early to direct all young girls to get three doses of a vaccine that has not been proven safe or effective in their age group.”

**Vaccines, Sterilisation & Abortion
**Unethical vaccine agendas
“The HPV vaccine has only been tested for five years on possibly as low as 100,000 ten year old girls in Africa.” You read it here first

Hmm, I am anti-vaccination, but if I could determine the efficacy and safety of the vaccine, I would probably choose to get this one.

I am in the camp of believers who see STDs as spreading and mutating to a point where it will become our next health crisis.

That being said, I don’t think anyone should get this particular vaccine. A lot of money changed hands to push this through with the FDA. The studies were extremely limited and weighted. There appears to be an agenda involved that doesn’t have anything to do with just promoting promiscuity. The legal ramifications are really annoying. And now we have backtracking pointing out that the vaccine might not even work, and might not even work for as long as they claim it should.

IMO, it sounds as if it is an incidental setup for any younger girls getting the vaccine. Imagine a 12-13yr old gettting it, but not becoming sexually active until she is in college. Oops! 🤷

This isn’t a moral issue. It is a scientific one. Have the trials been done and evaluated properly or is this another FDA early approval debacle? I dunno and that bothers me.

Once it has been established as safe, go ahead and give it. Kids don’t know what their vaccines are for. Try 'em. Ask your kid what her MMR vaccine was for. She won’t know or care.

I’m a big believer that teaching teens about ‘safe sex’ with condoms alters their behavioral choices and oppose condom handouts in school on that basis. But this vaccine is so remote from the choice and vaccines are so much a part of routine medicine that I don’t believe that behavior will change from the knowledge. IMO, the knowledge won’t BE there - it’s just another shot.

I knew what my shots were for. I said, “Why do I have to get shots?” and adults said, “It’s for measles, mumps and rubella,” and I said, “I already had measles and mumps.” They said, “You haven’t had rubella and you don’t want it.” And I said, “What’s rubella?” And they said, “German measles.” And I wondered why regular measles weren’t immunizing against German measles.

The rare kid like you can simply be told: " This one is to prevent Human Papilloma Virus. It is a virus that has a very long incubation time and easily overlooked symptoms, but it can lead to cancer later in life so they’ve started giving it to everyone."

If your kid’s eyes aren’t glazed over after that, she’s probably got a gift for medicine! Start saving for med school…

Giving a young girl a vaccine that ‘protects’ her (her body, but notice not her heart) only serves to give a contradictory message: Don’t do it. But you’ll be ok if you do. Huh?
I tend to agree here - to me, it’s the same ol message, don’t, but if you do, here’s something that will make it safer.
And let’s not get into all the horrible what ifs - rape, etc. Yes, it can happen and it’s tragic, but that what abortion is for right?
I just think that you can substitute “condom” or “abortion” for “Guardasil” and you’re back to square one with the Culture of Death squad.
There is no safe-sex when it is treated casually. This is what teens need to know and are not being taught.
I’m sorry to sound so cynical, but where was the medical community when HPV was ravaging young women before the discovery of a vaccine? My friend’s sister died of cervical cancer at age 20 in the early 90’s. The establishment knew of HPV and said nothing.

As the divorced father of three girls, when the issue came up with my ex-wife I told her to go ahead and get the older two vaccinated, and the youngest done when she was old enough.

You do all sorts of things in life to protect and avert from the "what if"s; this is just one more thing. On another board there was a debate/argument over whether the chances of a woman in America being raped in her lifetime was actually 1 in 3 or “only” 1 in 10. The chances are still too high, and if that should happen to one of my daughters I don’t want the possibility of cervical cancer to be adding to her pain.

Not to mention, but how will my daughters know that they guy they marry really is a virgin, or always wore a condom, or whatever? It’s just another “what if” to protect them from.

but “what if” the vaccine is worse than the chance of cancer? “what if” you have impacted your daughters’ health in some other way. this is a brand new drug, and there are no long term trials available.

I humbly submit that if the daughter does not know full well those answers, they should not be marrying at all.

It should be given to whoever wants it, or whoever wants their children to have it, same as any other vaccine or protective medicine.

It should also be given for free, because the cost of treating HPV or Ovarian Cancer are much greater than the cost of an injection!

The idea that we should make it more and more unattractive for young people to have sex is an absurd argument against protecting people. Maybe we should inject everyone with a chemical that will kill them if they have sex, and only give them the antidote on their wedding night! Authoritarianism never kept people holy, it just kept ‘undesirable’ people excluded and hidden away.
The difference is that with this vaccine we are protecting girls from a disease that they get from having sex (generally at an early age) with someone that they are not so sure of their history.
You say that we should making sex more unattractive is an absurd argument…read the following

pbs.org/newshour/bb/africa/jan-june06/aids_06-28.html

Although both sides of the argument could find this artical a little offensive…it is interesting to note that Uganda is the only African country to promote abstinance and is the only African country to have seen a decline or at least a plateau in the amount of new AIDS cases. In increase in morality is leading to a decrease in diseases (therefore protecting them and making it a very logical argument).

I’d like to think that’s why Uganda has good results. It’s also possible that it plateaued because it was so high.
