The Global Network of Rainbow Catholics has released a statement in response to the synod on the family

I’ve never heard of it, either…but apparently it’s a network of 13 organizations so far for LBGT Catholics around the world that formed last year, I think.

I’m glad they feel encouraged. I feel encouraged for them, too.

.
I’m glad for them too and that they have a global network of support. But we will have to wait on the Pope to speak officially in regard to the Synod report. It is in his hands as to what he does with it. It could be awhile. But when he was in the US I thought he spoke compassionately and with a willingness to meet people where they are. Without of course changing doctrine.

“Global Network of Rainbow Catholics”?

Dan
It is not a Catholic organization. It includes organizations very much opposed to the Catholic Church. It does not include organizations for gay Catholics, such as Courage, that are connected to the Catholic Church.

Whatever that means. We hear this thrown around a lot, but when it comes to a specific yes or no on very discrete circumstances, how does that work and what does it mean?

So practically speaking, a divorced and remarried couple cannot receive the Eucharist without prior annulment. Full stop.

Now, given that as a starting point, what does it then mean to “meet them where they are?” It is all so flowery and nebulous in a time when specifics are needed from the faithful.

It seems to me now that the bishops have completed their dialogue with one another at the synod, the faithful will have to await to see in what way(s) the Holy Spirit guides Pope Francis to explain what it all means.
