Did I offend you? Sorry. I was just saying that if you have a problem with a law you probably shouldn’t break it. There are legal ways to announce your displeasure. I also don’t believe abortion is on quite the same scale as sending people to gas chambers (I don’t approve of abortion, by the way).
Why not?..If anything it’s worse. The people sent to gas chambers at least had a voice and some ability to defend themselves.

Abortion is the destruction of a human life that is at it’s most vulnerable stage. Surely that, on a mass scale is far worse than the Halocaust of WWII?

You should be welcome to say what you want about certain laws. If you’re unhappy about them, make your voice known. However, I don’t believe freedom of speech means you should be able to evade taxes.

I don’t see why this is a big deal. Voter would have once been defined as a white male. It changed for the better. On top of this, marriage has been constantly changing. Divorce was made legal, adultery was made legal, the age at which someone could get married has been lower in the past, and so on. This idea that marriage has always remained the same is false.
Regular,

You are confused. Marriage has not changed.

Do you believe that Adultery is something new? Adultery is an act contrary to Marriage. Marriage does not change as a result of Adultery. Adultery causes the Marriage to be difficult.

Lowering the age of Marriage does not change Marriage.

Divorce does not change Marriage, people use Divorce, because they want to change Marriage, Moses allowed Divorce but Marriage does not change. What changes is the people that have committed. They choose not to honor committment.

You are wrong to believe this.

Yes, it has.
Do you believe that Adultery is something new?
Not at all.
Adultery is an act contrary to Marriage. Marriage does not change as a result of Adultery. Adultery causes the Marriage to be difficult.
Making adultery legal makes marriage less sacred. Marriage was much more valuable when adultery was illegal - now days, it’s perfectly legal to cheat on your spouse when once you would have been punished.

Yes, it does. It means young teenagers can no longer marry. It would have once been legal for someone to marry and have sex with someone young while, if they did it now days, they would be branded a paedophile. Our whole concept of appropriate marriage has changed.

Making divorce illegal means that, once again, marriage is less sacred. People can now enter marriages for a short duration, when once upon a time a marriage was a marriage that would have to last for a lifetime.
You are wrong to believe this.
No, I’m not. Marriage has changed completely.

Using laws does not change what is. It is what it is. You are completely wrong.

Correction – the legalization of adultery causes more people to disregard the sanctity of marriage.

Right – peoples’ conceptions of marriage do change. Marriage does not.

No; the increased accessibility of governmental divorce contributes to peoples’ tendencies to hold marriage as less than sacred.

  1. Let’s say I’m a student, studying how to make Flash games/animations (Adobe supports Planned Parenthood). Is it permissible for me to, say, torrent Flash Pro and use it to further my education? I deprive Adobe of its baby-murdering funds, and have benefited my education, which may be used to help me in my career and ultimately earn money that can be used for good. This is sort of like stealing from the rich, evil tyrants to give to the poor (in the rather distant future after I graduate). I suppose this is kind of reducible to a Robin-Hood sort of situation. So is Robin Hood moral? And, if you do not think it is reducible, is this moral?
This is quite naive, and no it is not moral. It is immoral because, as others stated, you can’t do immortality (stealing) to do morality. And it is naive because Adobe makes millions or possibly billions of dollars. Your single purchase (or lack thereof) will not help or hurt them in any significant way. All it will accomplish is you committing the sin of theft. You will not bring down a company that supports abortion, you are not doing anything to the cause of pro-life. Nobody will even notice or care.
If you are implying that one can’t vote Democratic and be a real Catholic, you have learned nothing from the Gospels and should be reflecting on your own righteousness and not that of others
I don’t really see how one could be a Democratic Catholic. Democrats promote everything Catholics are against, up to and including abortion.
