Of newsworthy to note:
Homosexual couples in Denmark have won the right to get married in any church they choose, even though nearly one third of the country’s priests have said they will refuse to carry out the ceremonies.
The country’s parliament voted through the new law on same-sex marriage by a large majority, making it mandatory for all churches to conduct gay marriages.
Under the law, individual priests can refuse to carry out the ceremony, but the local bishop must arrange a replacement for their church.
Who wants to take bets that won’t happen in Canada or the USA?

The first link that shows strong evidence that homosexuality is more than likely a socially learned behavior or one that could have happened from an early childhood trauma such as a child getting molested by someone of the same sex. The second link shows that besides the behavior being mortal sin that can lead one to a spiritual death it’s also psychologically unhealthy. And the third link shows how homosexual acts among men put them in the highest risk group for getting AIDS. Homosexual men have always made up the vast majority of people with AIDS in the United States.

The AIDS epidemic in the United States started with the “gay” community and then started spreading to heterosexuals because of bisexual men and intravenous drug users, and more than likely it spread to heterosexuals this same way in other countries such as Africa. Ever since AIDS first began in the United States, the “gay” community, by far, has been the most plagued by it. The “gay” community responded to their growing crisis by starting the AIDS awareness campaign because so many “gays” were dying from this.

“Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that “homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.” They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.” - 2357, The Catechism of the Catholic Church

“For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own likings” - 2 Timothy 4:3

“and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in their own persons the due penalty for their error.” - Romans 1:27

“but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened round his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe to the world for temptations to sin! For it is necessary that temptations come, but woe to the man by whom the temptation comes!” - Matthew 18:6-7

“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!” - Isaiah 5:20

We are to respect the dignity of homosexuals and have compassion for them in their struggle with same sex attraction, but we don’t condone the sin of the behavior. Love the sinner, but hate the sin.

It pertains to the state churches only, so far as I can tell.

Another reason to cherish the American freedom of (and from!) religion. God bless the 1st amendment.

The Church of Denmark can not deny to ‘marry’ two homosexuals. The Church is compelled too by the government to conduct gay marriages. How long until this happens to other Churches? Religious liberty and redefining marriage are not compatible

…for now. Give the liberal democrats more time to pillage this country of it’s morality. Its soul. We can’t be so eager to close the door on matters such as this. Our nation has not been this divided since the civil war. The government is out of control, arming itself to the teeth. Obama’s administration is attempting to pass legislation allowing future presidents to seek third terms (though I don’t believe this will go anywhere). The liberals have a strong grip on the country. The “conservative” republicans are weak and useless. They turn on each other like dogs, eager to be bought by the democrats to support gay marriage, abortion, and Lord knows whatever else. Once the republicans fall out of favor, the liberals will turn on each other. It’s the way our nation works. If we don’t have someone to fight, we fight ourselves. It is not so unbelievable that our federal government, which is close to redefining marriage, will soon force Churches to offer ceremonies to same sex couples (lest they be brought up on “human rights” charges for discrimination). Then the Bishops start getting fines and citations for refusing to comply. When they refuse to pay, then the government comes to arrest them. When they do that they will be met with every true Catholic in the nation, likely armed to the teeth, ready to fight for Christ in america in the same way our brave neighbors did in mexico less than a hundred years ago.

Let me go on to say that I, of course, do not condone violence in any way. I do not believe violence is the answer. I am a man who believes in the power of prayer and I will use prayer to try and avoid the road our nation has set itself upon. But should it be God’s will that america destroy itself (by it’s own hands) then our duty is to protect the Church. Not the physical buildings of course. But to protect our Lord that resides within. To protect His Priests who bring Him to earth that we might receive Him. To protect each other, who will be persecuted heavily should such horrors ever come to pass in this nation.

It was not long ago that our government (though it was influenced by protestant ideology) was refusing Catholics to attend Mass. They had to go to a protestant service or go without. St. Patrick’s brigade, heroic Irishmen who deserted the american army they were forced to join upon landing in this country, fled the tyranny of america’s government/army to worship the Lord in “His” One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. They fought with Mexico against the united states. And they died. Martyrs for Christ against those who would call themselves Christian. I do not mean to say protestants are at fault. It was the secular law at the time, it was just influenced by protestant ideology.

America has come a long way since then. But it has also started to rapidly sink. Not back to the old ways. Most countries rarely go back. They are always going forward. But forward could mean either up or down. For us, it’s definitely down.

unfortunately I think that is a likely possibility …

As VeritasLuxMea posted , it would appear to apply only to one denomination.

That article was from June 2012.

This article, also from June 2012 , seems to indicate that so far, at that point ( for whatever reasons) , it had only been forced on the Lutheran Church in Denmark - not the Catholic Church, or even other denominations :

Denmark bishop concerned same-sex ‘marriage’ law could force unions on Catholic Church
In an interview with Vatican Radio, Bishop Kozon said that the new law might affect Catholic churches sometime in the future. When asked if the law will be applied to other denominations and religions, Kozon replied, “We have been assured by the Minister [for Ecclesiastical Affairs] that this will not be obligatory for non-Lutheran denominations.”
However, “one never knows,” he said. “Indeed there have been voices who suggested this law should be obligatory for everybody.”
It would appear that rather than reporting as per responsible journalism , the Telegraph is, instead, continuing to demonstrate its bent on allowing reporting of fiction as truth by way of omission. An accepted definintion of insane, is when one loses touch with reality.

So , paint it any colour you like ,
making it mandatory for all churches to conduct gay marriages.
is still a straight out lie. 🤷

If there were any truth to the statement (BTW I wonder who took the poll and did the calculations) that
nearly one third of the country’s priests have said they will refuse to carry out the ceremonies.
we can be sure they aren’t Catholic “priests” . . . *Every * conscientious Catholic priest would refuse to participate in such a mockery of the truth.

It is only matter of time before other denominational Churches are going to be tried to be forced to conduct gay marriages

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Denmark is part of the State and as such, I guess, has little choice in the matter.

This is one place where the separation of Church and State works in the (ahem, real) Church’s favour: no government can force the Catholic Church to marry anyone.

Having said that, I feel for our brothers and sisters in Denmark, they are in for a hard time. Let’s hope they stand up and be counted, and let’s hope we are with them in solidarity and prayer.

I’m sure they could use another Kierkegaard right now!

If the current trend continues , barring any unforseen interventions - including Divine , that is a real possibility.

My point was that , as is so often the case , the mainstream media , not only misrepresents the majority in favour of marriage and the family , but they (homosexual activists and their protagonists) falsely portray a little ground gained through deception as a complete victory . They call it a foregone conclusion - a fait accompli . That is rather an arrogant boast . . . Seems to me Goliath had been barking something quite similar to David - just before he got to view David’s stone at high speed through a zoom lens . ( 🙂 )

As ours is not a “state church,” I agree that the government could not force the Catholic Church to “marry” same-sex couples. However, it is entirely possible under the current regime that the government could eliminate tax exemptions for religious institutions that refuse to do so. Everything is already in play to do that: frame it as a “civil rights” issue, then amend the tax code to penalize institutions whose practices violate “equal protection” statutes. Thus churches and Catholic schools and hospitals would have to pay property taxes, contributions to churches and religious charities would no longer be tax-deductible, etc. Under this approach, the government would get to punish the Catholic Church, yet at the same time say that it was not violating the Constitution because it was not interfering with the free exercise of religion. There would seem to be ample precedent in the tax code where behavior encouraged by the government is rewarded by favorable tax treatment (ex: home ownership) and behavior the government wants to discourage is penalized (ex: various penalties under Obamacare).

I would say it could easily get worse than adverse tax treatment. After all, if Catholic institutions refuse to provide contraceptive, abortifacient and sterilization coverage, they face heavy fines. The current government is the absoute enemy of the Church, and has shown it. It will do whatever it can to bend the Church to its will.

The current government is composed of ideological absolutists, and they wont’ tolerate the Church as a competing ideology any more than they tolerate the Repub party.

There is a legal precedent for that.
The religion clauses of the First Amendment do not prohibit the Internal Revenue Service from revoking the tax exempt status of a religious university whose practices are contrary to a compelling government public policy.

Then see Catholic Charities in Washington D.C., Springfield, IL, and Boston.

Certainly Catholic schools, hospitals, charities, etc, will be attacked. I’m not one for conspiracies, but it’s almost as if this administration (and several Catholics in government leadership) almost want this to happen.

Just like businesses can now be forced to serve homosexuals for their ‘marriages’ (bakers, photographers, etc.), eventually the US Government is going to try to compel the Catholic Church to marry them.

It will come our way. Maybe not tomorrow or the next, but it will happen. Satan is among us and lauging at us.
