I’m confused. If they’re not Catholic, why do they care what the Pope says about condoms? :confused:

if i had the power (thanks God i don’t) i will pray for them then zap them of the face of the earth! :mad: they are nothing but a plague to society.
 
Um, no, they’re creations of God who have fallen away and are in need of love and mercy.

not if you’re being attacked! God wants us defend our selves and the Truth.
 
Jesus and His Church have enemies. Always has, always will. The external are clear enough; it’s those within the Church are the greater threat.

Which is why He gave us the example of Jesus who patiently suffered abuse and death? Which is why He said, “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, pray for them that abuse you”? I am convinced that if we follow this advice, God will defend us, and there will be no need for us to “defend” ourselves by rendering hatred for hatred and evil for evil.

I’m not a Catholic, only planning to become one. But if I believed for a second that what you were presenting was the Catholic faith, I could never convert.
 
In the article I read, the Pope stressed “the need for proper education in sexual conduct.” He is not encourageing a condom protected indulgence in unrestrained sexual conduct. I believe he meant that the AIDS problem will decrease when people behave according to Church guidelines on sexual conduct.

I just want to be clear, I’m not saying I think self-defense is never acceptable, but Bass, it seems to me like what you are talking about is not legitimate self-defense against physical attackers, but contempt and hatred for an entire group of people. I find that contrary to the message of Jesus.
 
I believe that Jesus meant to include all peoples in His invitation to the Catholic Church. There has to be a place in Christ’s Church, and in heaven, for persons who call themselves homosexual. No group of people on earth, in history, should be excluded. They need as much prayer as any other Catholic.

I think you have the best comparison, much more apt than “the spirit of Vatican II.” No fiathful Catholic would find ths acceptable. In fact, I asked think this would be better in the Secular News forum so that all can make prayers of reparation for the indignity Christ suffers as a result of this blasphemy.

We are all instructed to pray for the conversion of sinners. This includes praying for these poor unfortunate misguided souls.

Let us remember these and other offenses against all that is holy in two weeks as we pray on Divine Mercy Sunday.
 
It’s a peaceful protest, so let’s be peaceful as well. Pray for them.
 
It’s an insulting protest. Indeed we should pray for them, but we also have a duty to instruct the ignorant. It has been proven condom don’t reduce the incidence of AIDS.

There is!! However, I believe that Christ said that place in heaven goes to those who repent of their sins, who “go & sin no more”. I do believe that, had this protest been made by those who are adulterers or those who are racists, the liberals among us would be singing a different song.

I agree, but I don’t believe that they are Catholic. NO Catholic would use Christ’s Mass, the recreation of the ultimate Sacrifice, as a protest.

Of course there is a place for those who consider themselves homosexuals in the Church, as long as they recognize the sin, work to avoid sin like the rest of us and confess their sins when they fail. That is not the issue here.

What Cradle Catholic said here brings the focus back on the issue at hand. This is not about homosexuality of condom use. The place for the Catholic homosexual is inside and on their knees before the Holy Eucharist. The place for the Catholic homosexual is in the confessional booth. The place for the Catholic homosexual is out protesting abortion, visiting the sick or elderly or maybe working in a food kitchen for the homeless. Helping to mow the grass at the Church is time well spent. This ridicule of all that is holy and our beloved Holy Father is where the devil will do his work.
