This day is about drawing attention to bullying and its harmful effects, which include huge numbers of children committing suicide. You might disagree with gay rights and the day of silence, and you could pursue appropriate means of resisting them if you wanted to. But to purposefully schedule a graded discussion on that day would be to become a bully yourself, and even worse, it would be to use a position of power over children to bully them. For shame.
Well said.

One of the most peculiar charaxterisitcs of religious zealots is that their view of bullying is so one sided. Like the case of antisemitism, the Church has played a seminal and vindictive role (which in both cases is popular to deny, diregarding truth and history). Even the suggestion that those who disagree with the Church should gain legal protection, is considered ironically (and incorrectly) to be bullying in the form of infringement on religious “rights”.

A more socially responsible, and a more charitable instructor might recognize the fact that there are gay students in class and at the school. These students should be respected, and the issues should be discussed from a social justice perspective, giving everyone the respect to express an opinion.

Avoidance of these issues is not the role of a good teacher, but suggest more the mindset of a coward. A good teacher can moderate an open discussion on controversial issues, for the benefit of the students.

A question also arises: has the Church ever acknowledged and apologized for its antisemetic behavior? Will the church apologize for its treatment of homosexuals over the centuries?

I call a strawman. A teacher who does not agree with DOS is a religious zealot. And then a seque to bashing of the Catholic Church once again by you. Never to waste an opportunity there, eh? It seems with your posts leading to the same pronouncements about the CC, your discernment has long been over.

Well, when you’re little, you sense something’s not right but you’re not sure what it is.

When you’re slightly older, you know something’s not right and it’s scary.

By the time you’re a teenager, you know what’s going on and you get frightened and frustrated at the same time.

When you’re an adult, you’re not afraid anymore, but you’re still frustrated, and even angry.

By the time you reach your 40s, you figure, ‘hey, it’s her life, there’s nothing more I can do about it, I just hope she enjoys herself and doesn’t hurt anyone.’ 🤷

When Harvey Milk started his relationship with that “boy” he was 17 or 18, for reference New York’s Age of Consent now is 17 and according to the Catechism a 16 year old male is capable of contracting a marriage.

I think that relationship was extremely distasteful, but there is no need to write libelous things.

I can’t find anything from a reputable source suggesting that at any point he solicited anyone for sex, the closest I can find is that when he was teased for his effeminacy he flirted with the bullies (terrible idea, but not even close to grounds for murder).

McInerney was a troubled child (his family was a abusive) who had a passion for drawing Nazi symbols. King asked McInerney to be his Valentine (again, terrible idea, but not even close to grounds for murder) so McInerney tried to get kids to beat up King. McInerney failed at that. The next day McInerney shot King twice.

Being transgender isn’t something that can be “cured” however there were certainly a number of ways in which King could have benefited from a psychologist.

You’re really going to speculate on whether King molested children? I wish women could get men who ask us for sex could get those pigs sent to jail.

Gender dysphoria hasn’t been shown to be treatable by anything other than transitioning.

Most transexuals were NOT abused as children, that’s just libel. Many were however abused as children by their parents, usually because they were gender nonconformist. Is there something “wrong” with transgender people that causes them to be that way? Under or overmasculinization of the brain appears to be the cause (the former in transwomen, the latter in transmen).

HRT is not usually done as a shot, normally it is taken in pill form. With regards to the “danger” of those hormones, overall it increases life expectancy.

The hormones don’t cause antisocial personality disorder, many transgender people start abusing substances as a coping mechanism while still in the closet , that addiction later causes it, therefore it is actually the closet that causes antisocial personality disorder.

There is so much wrong in that post that I’ve given up addressing it all, perhaps Rin can finish addressing it.
Let’s not forget Gary Studds , the representative from Massachusetts who had sex with his subordinate his 17 year old page and got re-elected to congress.
Studds was a central figure in the 1983 Congressional page sex scandal, when he and Representative Dan Crane were each separately censured by the House of Representatives for an inappropriate relationship with a congressional page — in Studds’ case, a 1983 homosexual relationship with a 17-year-old male

The platform changes when appropriate also, but as far has HS goes, the result is always to paint any negative expression has hostile, and get anyone or governing body to believe it, even if it is simply free opinion. For instant just in the news, Peter LeBarbera, was trying to enter Canada to give a speech against HS practices. He was cited by the boarder police for trying to break a Canadian hate law and was forced to return. The message is that the HS will no longer tolerate any counter views on it, but you will note, as this forum proves, they will always return here to initiate a conversation on the same topic.

The Canadian government carries some guilt in this case. The hate law here was used out of the boundaries of it’s intended purpose, and it’s definition made ambiguous by encompassing of free opinion. This is one step to anarchy and police state as such tampering has proven in the past.

There is no escape from capital vices in this world, and as I was implying, society will react appropriately as God commands. What they would try to have us do is have us accept the practice. Our hands are tied. Even if the world gave a unanimous consent, it would never pass in the next world. They and we know it, and their exercise in trying to force the issue only compounds their state, and now has the intent of bringing along in their folly the righteous who are weak in their faith and finally relent.

It’s simply not going to work. In all the generations through the dawn of man they have tried and God put us in our place every time.

But there is an out. It calls for work, perseverance and sincerity, and a resolve to seek a virtuous life. No one will get an easy pass through the door.

Mainstream psychology/medicine is not to be trusted on gay/lesbian topic and too many accept what is said w/o challenging or having doubts. You can pay experts to say things which agree with gay/lesbian agenda and that has happened since 1973. GLSEN is an apologist for harassment, stalking, child molestation etc. when it’s homosexual/lesbian. Homofobia is telling truths, theories and speculations which offend homosexual groups. But thoughts. Proposing (straightorgay) in your house, singles bar or @ a private party is in most cases legal. The right thing to do is say no and leave, but repeatedly proposing & stalking after 1 has said no is criminal harassment.*** & public restroom is to use toilet and wash up not proopose as it’s not a house or a bar-it’s illegal to propose and have sex in public restroom as happened to George Michael of Wham! because kids use the bathroom. GLSEN thinks it’s OK for homosexuals/lesbians to have sex in public restrooms.***

If people want to have sex (straight or homosexual) then go home and do it with other willing adults, not in public restrooms. Lawrence Fobes King did George Michael abuse in public restrooms. Transexuals are more likely to molest children as many transexuals were molested. We know what was reported about Lawrence Fobes King exposing himself and harassing others but it would not surprise me if Lawrence Fobes King molested children only that it went unreported as most do.

I have a feeling that quite a few Congressmen slept with underage female pages before it’s just once upon a time few cared and that it was much easier to quell rumors pre-Internet.
Why does everything a heterosexual does have to relate equally to gay relationships yet this Day of Silence is solely for gay students and there is not such thing in the schools for girls who face similar bullying.

I personally find libel against a dead child morally repugnant.

Girls are being bullied in schools for being girls? I remember being bullied, but that was because they thought I was LGBT.

I was bullied and I was straight. ALL bullying is wrong.

In chastising the other poster, I think this is inviting students to run the show, which is a backward methodology. Particularly because many supporters of homosexual lifestyle cry discrimination where there is no discrimination, such as with the Arizona baker case and many others. Things like that make these days of silence seem like agenda groups posing as anti-bullying groups.
They most definitely are agenda groups. The homosexualists have figured out that they can turn bullying, a real issue in and of itself, into an opportunity to advance their indoctrination of children into the homosexual lifestyle. I work in schools every week as a substitute teacher, so I have a ringside seat. I haven’t walked out of an assignment yet, but imagine that day may be coming:shrug:.

I read Book of Matt by S. Jimenez about Matthew Wayne Shepard a/k/a Matt which I’ll use. The book discloses ugly truths of the victim-most of it old such as his drug problems, but new information is that the victim was a drug dealer. Stephen Jimenez who is homosexual interviewed over 100 witnesses and found ugly truths. Stephen Jimenez wrote ugly truths including in Shepard’s family. There’s alot in the book but if you read the Book of Matt, you know that S. Jimenez mentioned

-Matt was a victim of child molestation and when Matt was 15 years old, he was arrested for molesting 2 neighborhood 8 year old boys-Matt got counseling for it. This was incidentally mentioned by S. Jimenez near the end. Matt had been molested by 3 different people including a distant relative and minister. If he had not been a victim of molestations, it’s possible he would have turned out straight instead of gay. Any conduct can be learned including sexual conduct and Matt suffering child molestation damaged his thinking and possibly caused him to behave sexually in ways he would not have had the molestation not happened.

-Matt knew his killer Aaron J. McKinney and there are witnesses who saw both together numerous times almost a year before he was killed. It’s not believed the 2nd man Russel A. Henderson knew Matt. Matt had a secret life as a drug courier/dealer-main reason GLSEN and homosexual groups are offended by Stephen Jimenez’s book is because he talked ugly truths about Shepard. The weak criticism is that Stephen Jimenez interviewed drug dealers, junkies, and he went into bars where drugs were sold to learn about Matt being a drug dealer.

That is a weak criticism because that is who Stephen Jimenez would have to interview to learn this. Matt’s drug problems is old news as he had told his friend Tina LaBrie about his drugs and his lover Tristan (Ted) Henson admits that Matt used drugs and that he knew 1 of his killers. Matt being a drug dealer was something he likely kept secret from his friends and family because if a person is selling drugs, they usually don’t tell their friends and family about this. You don’t always know the secrets friends and family have. Even if he did tell his friends and family that he sold drugs, don’t think they will admit this, as they (along with Mainstraem media) had tried to hide the fact that Matt molested 8 year old boys when Matt was 15 years old and got counseling for it. Matt should not have been killed, but I’m not doing a vigil for a drug dealer and child molester.** GLSEN and Huffington Post sees nothing wrong with child molestation when it is done by homosexuals and transexuals. Huffington Post is apologist for transexuality so Huffington Post’s views are wrong.**

Again, it’s truth not libel that Lawrence Fobes King exposed himself to others and it’s possible that Lawrence Fobes King had also committed child molestation only that it went unreported. They must abolish sex changes and cure transexuality-transexuality is antisocial.

No, Metthew Wayne Shepard (aka Matt) should not have been killed, but I’m not going to do a candlelight vigil for a child molester and drug dealer. The people offended by Stephen Jimenez’s book are homosexual groups who have no rebuttal. If Stephen Jimenez had been an FRC journalist, he would likely have been condemned as 1 of those Christians but Stephen Jimenez is a gay journalist. Stephen Jimenez did a 13 year investigation over 100 witnesses and he found ugly truths. Stephen Jimenez incidentally mentioned @ end of book that Matt molested 8 year old boys in his neighborhood when he was 15 years old and got counseling for it-Stephen Jimenez interviewed a relative of 1 of the boys who Matt molested. As far as questionable sources-drug dealers, junkies, and that he went into bars where drugs were sold, to learn about Matt being a drug dealer -These witnesses earn nothing saying this so they are credible and have no reason to lie. Stephen Jimenez’s evidence are 1st party witnesses he interviewed-over 100 of them over 13 years. Those witnesses verified Matt’s drugs (old news), drug dealer and courier. There are bartenders who saw both Aaron J McKinney and Matt together, so this is verified information. Matt took antidepressants which were not working and he mixed drugs-cocaine, Ecstasy and Meth with antidepressants. Matt had depression, PTSD and he mixed drugs with antidepressants. This is old news. Why could Matt have gotten involved in dealing drugs & or be a courier-$ problems-he bought them and when he had $ problems, he sold them & or was a courier-this is verified by witnesses who Stephen Jimenez interviewed. These witnesses are credible as they earn nothing saying this. Stephen Jimenez verified that Matt would use Doc O’Connor’s limousine services and was living an extravagant life. Matt had money problems with his drugs would likely sell some in order to make money.

With Stephen Jimenez writing a book to make money. Judy L. Shepard earns anywhere from $5,000 to $20,000 per speech. Judy L. Shepard’s interest is to profit from her son’s 1998 killing and push an agenda. Even after ugly truths are disclosed about Matt being a drug dealer (main part of S. Jimenez’s book) and a child molester of 2 neighborhood 8 year old boys, some people still give sympathy to him. No, Matt should not have been killed, but I’m not going to do a candlelight vigil for a child molester. It is gay groups, who have been pushing hero worship of him when he does not deserve hero worship. And while gay/lesbian groups say they are offended because Stephen Jimenez says the murder case is complicated, that is minor. Main reason gay groups are offended by Stephen Jimenez’s book is because he told the ugly truths about who the victim was. Finally, we know about the 2 cases reported but it would not surprise me if other 8 year old boys had been molested by Matt only that it went unreported.

I decided against going into teaching, but if I ever go back I’ll be sure to schedule the important test on this day, and a graded class discussion too.
So? The movement makes it clear that students should still speak to instructors and participate respectfully in class when asked to do so. It’s the silence towards peers and the lack of socialization that makes the point. I participated in this in high school, and it was no big deal. I put a sign on my shirt explaining my silence and went on about my day.

Why are you so angry about students expressing their personal beliefs?

Maybe. I certainly would not tolerate any treason in my classroom or bashing of the troops (you know, like was popular among students in the 60s: “Ho, Ho, Ho Chi Minh / The NLF is gonna win!”). In fact, on this day, I think it might be a good thing to go around the class and read the constitution aloud so students know about the laws of this nation shared by all citizens.
It’s a really good thing you didn’t go into teaching, you wouldn’t last long. Also, you don’t get what ‘treason’ means.

Students have a right to “bash” the troops, they have a right to protest war. Check out Tinker v. Des Moines. Your antagonistic and spiteful attitude towards students who believe differently than you would be considered unprofessional and not conducive to a positive learning environment. If you can’t treat kids the same if they are being silent for gays as you would if they are being silent for voiceless, unborn children, then you have no place in education.

That’s what I was just thinking. If we wouldn’t call students “disruptive” for participating in the day of silence for the unborn, I don’t see how we can call the same actions “disruptive” if the point is bringing attention to the bullying that gay students face. 🤷

If that’s the case, then, I apologize for my earlier post:
I usually agree with anti-bullying programs, but agree that it’s not right for “students to run the show” and interfere with the planned educational process.
It wasn’t clear to me, from the link in the first post, that students are still expected to speak and participate in class if required. There was something about how students could still be required to do so, but I was under the impression that students would refuse to speak/participate even if required.

You are wrong in saying that it was not a big deal. It is a big deal. You took part in a gay rights activity.
